If your doctor didn't give any recommendations, ask the pharmicist.

I never took the OTC ones, just prescription. And I've got to tell you-- it didn't help my morning sickness any!! I eventually learned to take them at night, so I could lie very still and sometimes keep dinner-- and the vitamin-- down.

Good luck!!

Your OB/GYN should give you a prescription for them. If not, they do have OTC ones. If you don't want those, you can take a multi-vitamin and drink a glass of Orange Juice a day to get the full amount of Folic Acid that you need.

I have always been horrible aat taking pills, guess thats why I ended up here So anyway, went to the doctor the other day and told him I wasn't even able to take the Chewable one's he had given to me. He said I could just eat a well balanced diet and also up until 20 weeks, take folic acid, then after 20 weeks, take some iron pills. He didn't say how much to take though, so I just got the 200% of Folic acid and just started that yesterday

I took OTC prenatals with JJ and they made me nauseas, or else they gave me a bad case of diarreah everytime I took them so I stopped taking them (I know it was wrong but they werent helping if you ask me). This time I got the prescription prenatals and they did the same thing so I called and asked the nurse line and they told me to just take 2 flintstone chewable vitamins a day 1 in the morning and 1 at night but always after a meal. This is the only way I can take vitamins during pregnancy, if I remember to actually take them

I'm on Materna prenatal vitamins.

Since I already had morning sickness, my doctor told me it'd probably get worse. (which it did)

I am taking prescription prenatals and I haven't had any problems, I get a little gaggy when I take them but I am able to keep them down and I take them at night right after dinner so maybe that helps
