How do/did you pay for your medical bills during pregnancy? (insurance, government assistance, cash, etc.)

our healthcare system is public, so every pregnant woman in the country is entitled to free medical and obstetrical care, no matter what i need.

theres the option to go privately but it costs 5 grand on top of health insurance and theres no significant difference.

I noticed that is shows you live in texas. I do to and i just wanted you to know that they changed the law stating that if you are pregnant you can receive medicad no matter what you or anyone else makes and then once your baby is born it is already qualified for it for the first year of life. All you need to do is go to the health department, fill out the form and someone will get back with you to set up an interview. All you have to really have is something stating that you are pregnant from the dr. I am on bcbs and medicad and medicad will pick up the cost of what bcbs won't pick up.
