Well i just saw my boyfriend for the last time for at least a year and a half since he is going to Iraq. He wont be here for the birth obviously wich makes me upset and the baby will be a year old when he gets back. When he gets over there he will be in the half of his company that will be bodygaurds for diplomats that are over there. So knowing that he will be over there and be in a VERY dangerous situation scares me. Everytime i see something about the war i start crying. Sorry for letting it all out but i needed to vent. Anyone else trying to cope with having someone over there?

I hope he stays safe. My brother is supposed to go over at the end of the year. Check out the military mommies board. I know there are a few women who's bf/dh's are in Iraq

((hugs)) My husband's in the Army, and he's an Arabic linguist, so we'll be dealing with deployment sometime in the near future.

Doesn't he get to come home for R+R? At least then you can see him at the halfway point

Thank you for all of your support. Nothing has been said about them coming home for R+R. But someone told me i could contact the red cross and if they felt like it was an emergency they could probably get him home for the birth so I will definatly be checking into that.

Hi-

I am soo sorry to hear about your situation... Although I do not have my fiance over there, my dad is over there, and so are at least 4 of our friends.. One of our closests friends is over there-and hes been over there 3 times; and another friend of ours is just going back in January for his second time for a year... I just wanted to say that time will fly by-and that your man will be home before you know it! Just try to stay/be positive-and if you know of any local groups-like the American Legion [womans auxiliary]-they are very supportive and its an awsome organization that supports alot of women during their time of need! Hugs your way! ps. On a positive note-they do have the internet over there (in some places i know)- so communication will not be as bad as it used to be! Jules
