I just wanted some advice on this. I think I'm pregnant. I've never been pregnant before and I've been on the patch for about 4 months. My boyfriend and I are in a committed long-term relationship with sex pretty much daily (maybe that ups my chances?)
So, this is the deal. For about 3 weeks my breasts have been super-tender, BUT i've had this weird abnormal menstruation happening too. My period is usually liek clockwork and lasta bout 5 days. I never "really" had my period this month (due about 3 weeks ago). Instead, I've had brown and pink constantly for the last three weeks.
Because I'm technically bleeding AND I'm on birth control, I just don't think it's possible that I'm pregnant. But, the only person I've told about this (this morning) has urged me to go ahead and get a test. Frankly I don;t want to waste the money or the time if the bleeding means that I am absolutely not pregnant. So, just wanted some other people's opinion on this.
Since you just started the patch these are some symptoms I found that you may be having from it:
Common side effects may occur when you start using the patch, but they tend to decrease over time and may gradually disappear. In clinical trials, the most common side effects women experienced were breast symptoms, a reaction of the site of application, headache, nausea, upper respiratory infection, and menstrual cramps.
I had also heard that periods become out of wack and sometimes non-existant.
Anyway, if you still beleive you may be pregnant, take a test!
Get a test. You could go to planned parenthood or a local clinic and it would be free to you. You should be checked out anyways to a) make sure you aren't pregnant and B) figure out if your bleeding is bad or not. It would not be a waste of money to buy a HPT, you would be paying for peace of mind. And a lot of folks would pay a lot for peace of mind. My grandma had light periods in both her pregnancies up until about 7 months when she went to the docs and found out she was actually pregnant. It does happen and she did not miscarriage either child, my mom and my aunt. Get a test, take it and keep us updated. Good luck!
Yea I agree, you might want to at least get in contact with your docter, and let them know what has been happening. It will never hurt, to at least find out. That way, you can have some weight taken off your shoulders!
I was on the patch for about 5 months, before I became pregnant, I didnt have any bleeding like that at all. It was pretty much normal, periods, etc. But I also got pregnant on the patch, too. And found that out, when I did the week "off" of no patch, and didnt start my period at all.
