So I just found out on Wednesday of last week that I'm going to be a mommy. My 1st docs visit is tomorrow at 10:30AM. I am completely nauseated, can't eat, don't even have the WANT to eat... which really sucks because I know I need to for my baby. On top of the morning sickness and everything that comes with pregnancy, my boss got me sick. I have a bad cough. My throat hurts sooo bad and I don't know how to feel better. I've been told not to take cough medicine. My emotions are just OUT OF CONTROL right now..a nd being sick is making it sooo much worse... Crying for 30 mins at a time because I just want to feel better and I want my stuffy nose and cough to just go away..
Do you ladies have any suggestions on what helps nauseated moms-to-be to eat? (I've noticed I can eat crackers and drink club soda, but that's it, and its gettin reallllllllllllly old!!) Also, any suggestions on being sick while pregnant and what helps? I just want this to go awayyyyyyyyy!!
Secondly, sorry you've been hit by ms. For me I just layed around a lot. Before getting up I would *make* myself eat a graham cracker or two. Lemonade for some reason seemed to sit better with me than anything else. Don't worry too much about "eating for baby" just yet, the yolk sac is still feeding it for a little while. Just take it easy, don't be too hard on yourself right now. Give your body the rest it craves.
Lemonade (though it's acidic, and therefore SUPPOSED to make you nauseous) actually helped me out, too. It was the ONLY thing.
I had m/s until 14 weeks. I lost 25 pounds. My baby is not only a heifer, but very healthy. Don't worry if you're not eating... only worry about getting dehydrated.
Certainly you have to eat at least a little, but you'll be fine and so will the baby.
The cool thing is that the baby takes its nutrients from YOU and what you already have.. not so much the food you eat. (You just need food to replace what the baby takes and to replenish what YOUR body needs). If you don't eat really healthy/much right now, it's perfectly fine and normal. Certainly if you're starving it wouldn't be good.. if you're so sick that you're losing weight into your second trimester, they'll probably be concerned..
As for something to make you feel better.. I can't help. NOTHING worked for me. I tried it all. blah. It makes me sick just thinking about it.
