Do you ladies plan your weekly or monthly meals?
I've been trying to do this and it seems like I always give up and just end up at the grocery store buying random things.
I'm trying to save the family some money... any tips on how to make this easier?

I do monthly dinner meal plans. Here the first Tues of the month the grocery stores have 15% off all items, so I stock up on meats and freeze them, as well as canned/boxed items and toiletries. Then weekly all I have to do is get fruit/veg/milk/bread.

It's not only saved us a ton of $$ (as in around $400 per month!) but it's saved my sanity. It's a bit of work to get it set up every month (I'd say around 1.5 hours to plan the dinners and then do the list) and it saves me the hassle of trying to figure out what to make every day, and throwing away a bunch of stuff I thought I might use but has gone bad.

We used to do a menu and freeze meals exceot DH decided he didn't like eating the same meal on the same night of the week. We used to do great but lately it is too hot to cook.
