I guess it's time I check in here!
I'm Alannah, 29, and mama of Eleanor (Ella), age 4. My DH and I just got married in May and 2 weeks ago, just over a month after our wedding, we got a referral to adopt! We applied to Russia while we were engaged, with broad parameters on what we'd accept. We hadn't even had time to revise our dossier to change our marital status from partners to married, since we had submitted it thinking it would be months if not a year before we got a referral.
We're jittering with excitement waiting to travel, set to leave on the 17th for the shorter first of two trips! Our little one waits in Russia, a 3 1/2 year old girl, born in late October (we've heard the 29th and the 31st, we'll see, I guess!), making her a whopping 8 months younger than Ella. She's 18mos post-op on a minor CHD, atrial septal defect, and as far as we know, perfectly healthy.
I guess I'll be joining the closely spaced siblings club in an unusual trial-by-fire way, but I couldn't be more pleased. Neither could DD, she was pretty neutral about getting a sibling, but now she's off the wall excited about it.
I am sarah and my girls are Rhianna (5) and Lacey (4) they are 12 months apart. I also have a son Lucas him and my daughter are 22 months apart. I am pregnant with #4 but this one won't be closely spaced there will be over 2.5years between son and new baby.
