Okay, I'm pretty sure most of you would agree that this is wrong and that I'm right to be angry here, but let's just test the idea.

When I was in the Air Force I know I've mention about this in the boards before... but there was a girl that was pregnant around the same time as me. NO ONE, would have guessed though, she never showed at all! In fact she was one of my best friend's during my pregnancy and I had no idea that she was pregnant! Anyhow, so all of a sudden in our very tiny town it starts flashing all over the news that she had killed her baby. And, no, we are not discussing radical's proclaiming her having an abortion. She literally gave birth in her bathroom and threw her son into the apartment trash bin in the middle of summer in a very hot state. I was sickened when it happened anyway because I totally thought she was a cool person, but on top of that, since we had been friends and I was pregnant too, I had to go through intense questioning about how I felt about being pregnant and all. I was like 'Hey! I'm not hiding my pregnancy! What does that tell you?' Well, I bring this up because I was just serfing the web today and ran across a profile with her on it... and this was a pretty recent profile too. And, well, it just angered me that she did something like that and got off scott free! That in and of itself would upset me.

But, to make matter's worse, I've been blamed for something I didn't do, that would have been mild in comparison anyway and my kids were taken from me!!!

Someone explain how this makes sense? Is a baby is fully out of it's mother, is that still considered an abortion? And somehow justifiable? I don't get it!

I don't agree with abortion after 12 weeks unless a doctor or specialist can provide valid medical reasoning for it (and I don't view downs syndrome or spinabifida as a valid reason either) in the first place. I believe that after 24 weeks, when a fetus can surivive outside the womb on it's own (with medical assistance) that it is murder. If you carried a baby for 24 weeks, then you can carry it for another 18. (yes there are medical reasons that could warrant being induced at this point, but all measures to keep the baby alive should be made until deemed futile).

So do I think she should have got off scot free? No. She birthed a live human being and cast it off to die, that is at least manslaughter (as it may not have been premeditated). But she probably got off on a mental instability plea. What she did cannot be justified what so ever, if a baby can breathe, it's murder IMO.

If it takes a breath, its murder. I can't believe she got away with it. Don't most states have safe haven laws?

It's too bad so many states are teaching about abstinence within sex ed instead of the safe haven laws, eh?

dismalgrin, I don't understand ~ why did your kids get taken away because of all of this? Did she say you knew? Or am I not understanding?
