This truck has been around Calgary Alberta for a few years now and I was wondering what your thoughts are on this, or if you have something similar in your city?

Basically this is a 11 meter long truck with massive pictures of limbs from an aborted fetus and an entire aborted fetus on the other side. Complete with the word CHOICE on all sides.

I'm pro-choice and seeing this truck horrifies me, but does not sway my decision. I do not believe they should be able to do this. Can you imagine being stuck in rush hour with this truck infront of you?? And they puposely go out in rush hour. What if your children saw it? How do you explain it to them? I get furious when I see this truck and I always try to see who is driving it to see if they are proud of them selves, or trying to hide their face and not make eye contact. I've been unsuccessful so far....

CAUTION! It is extremely graphic! If it is too graphic and needs to be removed, I appologize in advance.

This is the website of the organization who owns this van.

But these are the pictures I'm forced to see as a Calgary citizen. So sick of it!

I'd tell my kids what is probably the honest truth. "That's what happens when a baby dies too early." There's not really anyway to know if the pictures are from abortions, or from miscarriages. They're size references photos, sometimes you'll see a coin, other times you'll see a ruler.

I once saw a slideshow about abortion that included a friend's pics of her stillborn baby after it was preserved for autopsy. Someone had scammed it off facebook and included it. So I do not trust the pics to actually be of an abortion.

Whether or not they are pictures of an actual abortion doesn't even matter to me.

And I would never say that to my 5 year old after a picture of body parts and blood has been shoved into her face.

that would be your choice. having a history of miscarriage I would answer my children's questions about "what happens to the baby" as honestly as I could. No reason to be taboo, just be as child as appropriate as I can.

A friends pic was scammed off of FB? Really? I'm sorry Ashley but you seem to have a story for almost ALL topics that have EVER been posted here. I'm finding all of these "first hand" stories really hard to believe.

As for the OP, I wouldn't like seeing a truck like that either. I just don't see how those graphics are truly needed to be advertised to the world.

My problem with it is that they, as pro-lifers, believe that life starts at conception. So how can they be so hypocritical as to have the picture of what is they believe is a dead person on the side of their truck? It's no different than digging up the corpse of someone who smoked all their life and died of lung cancer and putting it up as an anti-smoking statement. So sure, you might dissuade a few people from getting abortions but you are pretty much proving you are a horrible person at the same time.

I think the pictures on the truck are more about shocking and angering people than to be informative. In the right setting, I can see using the pictures for informational purposes but the side of a truck is not what I consider the right setting at all.
