I am just absolutely dying to know what our baby will look like! I wonder which features he will get from me and which ones he will get from DH. I just can't blend the two of us together and figure out what he will look like and the anticipation is driving me nuts! In my head, I take my best features and DH's and of course hope that he ends up with the best of both of us. Last night I was looking at DH's baby pictures to get an idea of what he will look like if he takes after DH. I think my step-daughter looks EXACTLY like my husband (and thank God cause her Mom is fugly) so I wonder if DH has some dominant genes or if it's just kind of the luck of the draw. I look at me and my brothers and my older brother looked more like my Mom. I look exactly like my Dad but with my Mom's coloring and my younger brother is a pretty even blend of both of them.

So 1st time Moms, do you wonder and obsess over what your first baby will look like or am I weird? And BTDT, do your kids look more like you or DH or are they a pretty even blend of you both?

Yes I can't wait! My baby will be 50% white 25% Japanese, and 25% mexican. I guess we can assume she'll have dark brown-black hair and brown eyes, but what other features will she get?? It's exciting to think about!

I don't obsess- but I do wonder what they will look like. Wondering if they will be blond, brunette or a redhead. My whole family has blue eyes, DH's are all brown, and even though that is a dominant gene, my GM had brown eyes, and my dad ended up blue.
That's the surprise I'm waiting for at birth, what the baby will look like.

I'm super curious since the kids have different bio fathers so it's like having my first again.

My daughter is the spitting image of me in almost every way. My son has my eyes but everything else is his dad. In the 3D u/s I thought this little one looked like both me and his daddy. He definitely looks to have my cheekbones! But then we also thought he was a girl.

My son is a really good blend of DH and I. He has my mouth, smile and chin, but DH's hazel eyes, sandy blonde hair colour and flawless skin (I am covered in freckles). He has DH's body but my knock knees lol... sometimes I worry he got the cutest stuff from both of us... what if this next one gets the less-cute stuff from each of us?! haha

Definitely hard to predict who the baby will look like. But, I remember very clearly with ALL 3 of my kids that they looked so "familiar" as soon as the were born. It felt like I had always known what they were going to look like. Weird. It was like, "oh hi!, there you are." They looked exactly like I would have expected them to look.

I am really curious as well. Both my sister and I look more like my dad's side of the family. My boyfriend and his brother to me look pretty even between both their parents. My family is full of darker skin, dark brown hair and brown eyes while my boyfriend's is lighter skin, light brown and blonde hair and they all have blue eyes. It will be interesting to see which genes pop up.

I keep wondering what the little one will look like too! The weirdest thing happened the other day, DH was sleeping on his back and I happened to notice his profile, and I SWEAR it looked exactly like the baby's at my 13 week NT scan. Now I know the face isn't fully formed at that point, so maybe this is all my pregnancy craziness, but I'm getting the feeling he/she will look like Dad (not a bad thing)! I'm also interested in what the baby will look like because he/she will be half black and half white (among other things) - DH is black with some native American features from both sides of his family, and I have sort of mediterrean skin and freckles, with some of my family being a little darker (Puerto Rican and Italian) and some being fair (German).

My DS looks exactly like me, so I have a feeling this one will take after SO. DS isn't SO's biological child, though. For some reason I can picture a boy looking more like SO and a girl looking more like me. When I was little, I looked JUST like my dad, but am now more of a mix of both parents.

You will always wonder w/ your first. My first two have different dads too and I obsessed about both of them. Now I don't even think about it b/c my last three are an even blend of me and DH and everyone says they are cookie cutters. I don't think they look exactly alike, but they all are very similar so I know this one will most likely have pretty much the same features.

My parents' coloring are very similar, or was before my mom started dyeing her hair and Dad lost his. So it's no wonder my brother and I look a lot like them both. My husband seems to take his coloring from his mom while his brother looks a bit more like my dad.

I'm fairly sure this baby will be strawberry blonde at birth (I was and hubby sorta still is) with blue eyes that may or may not darken between ages 5-10. But I'm quite sure it'll be a long baby, getting its height/length from my husband.

I wonder all the time. DH and I look so different. I have strawberry blond hair, blue eyes, freckles, round face, and fair skin. He has black hair, brown eyes, a few freckles but not many, angled face, and tanned skin.
To me Blair looks like both of us. Sometimes she will go through stages were she looks more like me and others she will look more like DH. She defiantly has DH big brown eyes and skin color, she also has his body shape (very lean and lanky), but she has my face shape and my lips and nose.
When Blair was born she looked exactly like me, no doubting she was mine. Spitting imagine of my baby pictures. When DHs brother had their son he looked like my DH (but has since changed and looks like his mothers brother mixed with his dad). Its weird how kids can look like anyone you are blood related to and how they will change as they grow.
I think Morgan will look like Blair did but we will have to wait and see!

Then there are the recessive genes....

Both of my sons have red hair and neither their father nor I do !!! When you have a redhead which is fairly uncommon, everyone will ask you where the red hair comes from. ExH was very swarthy, with olive skin, black hair and eyes. I'm a brunette with brown eyes. Former inlaws were amazed at DS #1 who had fair skin, and curly red hair. (When he developed his first freckle, the inlaws thought there was something wrong and wanted me to take him to a dermatologist !!!) DS #2 was born with dark hair, but it fell out and then grew the red hair.
When I had him to the doctor for a check up...even he commented, but then said,
"Oh.....those recessive genes !!!

I wonder every single day!
I am Dutch. Dark blonde hair, blue eyes and hardly any pigment. I don't colour well in summer
My SO is 3/4 Indonesian, with a light colour. light brown eyes, dark brown hair.

I can see in his nephews and neices it can go all ways! Nobody looks the same blonde, brown, blue eyes, green eyes, no colour or very asian looking. All is possible!

That is cool. At first I got a 72% chance for brown, but I know chances are higher because although my bf mom has brown her brothers and sisters have blue. When I calculated with her as if she would have blue eyes we have a 50/50% chance.
It does not really matter, I love his light brown eyes!

LOL
Not really yet...
We have too many things going on right now that I am only trying to enjoy the moment at this stage of pregnancy.
I can´t imagine the baby in my arms yet or being 2 years old.
Not in a bad way though, I am loving this stage of pregnancy and can´t really focus on anything else

Ugh. All they have is blue, green, and brown. I have hazel eyes, which can look blue or green depending on my clothing and the light.

Everyone thinks my DD is a spitting image of me... but I can see a lot of DH in her face... especially the shape of her eyes and lips. I was soooo curious to know what both DD and DS would look like, and I am again very curious to know what this little one look like! DS to me looks like a good combo of my DH and I both.
