We are definitely set on the baby's first name...Jaiden...but having some issues with the middle name. I would love for the middle name to be Jacob but DH really wants it to be his middle name, Michael. I don't have a problem with Michael at all, and I think it's very symbolic for our DS to have daddy's middle name, but I don't want to give up Jacob either. Then I thought, what about 2 middle names...so it would be Jaiden Jacob Michael (last name here).

What do you ladies think? Is it weird to have 2 middle names? How would you even fill that out on a birth certificate. Sorry, I'm normally old fashioned as DD has just the 1 middle name (and dh got to pick that one too!).

Thanks for the advice!

I don't think it's weird. I was actually debating the same thing. A friend of mine has a daughter with 2 middle names. I mean, when you think about it, the only person that's really going to call your child by their full name is you, so if you like it, I don't see a problem with it!

I don't think it's uncommon at all. One thing I've yet to get DH to realize is that the baby will not be called by it's full name at all times. He wants something that sounds perfect, and while I believe we've come up with it, he's unsure, so we're exploring options. 2 middle names is one of those options.

My sister has 2 first names. Catherine Bernadette is her first name, then she has a middle name, a last name, and a married name. Her name on her driver's license takes up two lines LOL. On her birth certificate, it shows as Catherine Bernadette under first name.

So in your case, I believe you'd put Jaiden for first name, then in the spot for middle name, Jordan Michael (which sounds great btw).

I don't know how you'd fill out the birth certificate, probably just put both names in like you would if it was one name. I'll have to ask my friend what she did.

I know my neighbor's children all have 2 middle names and my step sister had 2 mn's, and my good friend. I don't think it's weird at all. I assume when you're filling out the birth certificate paperwork, you'd just pt both names in the MN space.

My DS has 2 middle names (Ethan David William ..........) and this baby will have 2 middle names as well (Caiden Eric Edward ................). I think it is becoming more and more common for kids to have 2 middle names or at least around here it seems to be more common now. As for on the birth certificate I honestly can't remember how we did it but I think we just put both middle names in the middle name spot. All my nephews have 2 middle names too, (I only have nephews lol)

Both our kids have two middle names, and I plan to give ALL my children two middle names. Plus, I knew several people growing up who had two middle names. I don't think it's weird at all.

My son's birth certificate has both his middle names in the "middle name" slot. It wasn't complicated at all. Whenever anything asks for his middle initial, we just use the initial of his first middle name. So instead of "Seamus P.S. Dhabolt", it's just "Seamus P. Dhabolt". It'll be the same for Rain when she's born. We'll put both of her middle names on the birth certificate, but for anything that asks for just a middle initial, it'll just be "C". "Rhiannon C. Dhabolt" instead of "Rhiannon C.S. Dhabolt".

We've never had any issues.

Nope, I don't think it's weird at all. Matthew has two middle names, and he has a cousin with two also.

We actually planned on giving the baby two middle names if it was a boy. So I don't think it is weird at all.

My youngest has two middle names. His name is Caffery Jackson-Lee (last name). My mom added the Lee last minute b/c he was born on her bday and it's her middle name. Actually you can give your child as many middle names as you want or none at all. I think you should do whatever you feel fits your child.
