We're going to mom&baby yoga classes (2 different ones) and just registered for
a "cardio-poussette plein air" group. Many moms in my yoga class registered too so I guess it'll be fun
It's nice because (just like here) you get to exchange experiences, tricks, products' reviews (who liked what or what worked when)

You'll like it!

I do MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) Its international so you can probably find a group in your area. I love it and we have meetings 2 times a month and play date 2 times a month.
Im thinking of doing stroller strides in our area (another international group you can find in your area) but I rather wear Morgan than use a stroller. I dont think she will like the stroller since she HATES the car seat. But first meeting is free and Ill go and see how much they actually use the stroller.

We don't have any programs like that around here. We used to have a MOPS and I loved it! I take Ryan and David to story time every Thursday at the library though. The moms usually take their kids to the park afterward too. I also meet another mom and her son at the coffee shop on Thursdays before story time, so Ryan has a big morning on Thursdays!

I'm not in any, there's nothing around here except the church, and we don't go. But I went to a young parents high school when I had Owen & have a lot of close friends from there that I hang out with a lot, and our kids are all pretty much the same age.

I don't and I wish I could but I just can't

I'm a young mom (25) who doesn't fit in with the other young moms at the groups. They spend the whole group talking about getting drunk and complaining about their baby daddies.
I'm married and I don't drink so I don't fit in with them which means they shun me.

I'm only 25 so the 30 something moms that I actually have anything in common with don't give me the time of day because I'm a "kid"

I have some great mom friends though

I joined one at one of the hospitals and it has been the best thing ever for me. We meet once a week from 12:30-2pm. Sadly Addie is starting to get into more of a routine and that is looking like one of her nap times. I hate going and having her cry most of the time which she will do if tired. She can't just fall asleep, she has to be soothed to sleep and if in a noisy environment then i have to keep rocking her or something and it has become more of an ordeal I am going to miss my group.

We created a moms group of Barrie/Bradford ladies from another forum I have been a member of for years. I otherwise don't have too many mom friends IRL. I find the moms I meet online are much more openminded and less judgmental about my parenting style/choices because they're not limited to their circle of friends and family in terms of 'experience'

Mom groups around where I live are mostly moms who have very rich spouses and shun moms like me who share the workload (financial and otherwise) with our husbands.

Mom groups around here are for moms who drive Tahoes, tan daily and have bleach blond hair, not me. Moms that I do know have children much older than mine or just don't have time when I have time. Oh well.

Am I being totally judgmental? I'm sorry!!! I just don't feel like I would fit in AT ALL.

Have any of you ever looked into meetup.com? I found some really good groups on that website. I actually joined a group that was for 20-Something Moms only and met some really amazing ladies that I had a ton in common with. I was finding that all the "moms groups" in my area had much older woman that I had absolutely nothing in common with. I felt really uncomfortable and out of place. When I found the 20-Something Moms group, it was just like I immediately clicked with everyone. We hang out all the time, our husbands have poker night once a month and our kids all love playing together.

There's a group of moms from my church that meet at the park every other Friday. I've been once but will probably be going on a regular basis now.
