How are our LO's with Eczema doing ? James still has his little patches... I am taking him in tomorrow to see if they will prescribe something, I doubt it but it's worth a try.. how is everyone else doing.... Aveeno was working for us but it doesn't seem to work as good anymore... anyone find something that has?

So far, my 5 month old doesn't have it or show any signs, but my 5YO does and I'll tell you that lately we've just been putting vaseline on his spots and it's been working GREAT!!! I would try that and see how it works for you! Good luck!

Mia's dry skin turned out to be eczema, we just picked up a prescription for Colorom ( Im pretty sure thats what the prescription says) Lotion, I guess we will see in a couple of days.
Her face is pretty bad and her whole top of her head now Its not that noticeable but I see it and it drives me crazy She is starting to really get annoyed herself with her itchy cheecks and face, she is constantly scratching her poor lil face Just tonight she scratched herself under the eye

We use Aquaphor whenever Jaiden's starts up and then it's gone by the next day. That stuff is amazing... you can get it at Wal-mart, CVS, Walgreens, etc.

Jude's been getting little dry patches (I'm assuming this is eczema---my kids have never had it, so I'm guessing this is what it is) for the last 3 weeks. We're holding off until his 6 mon appt to ask the dr. In the meantime, I've been applying Aquaphor to the rough areas.

I just took Violet in for eczema a month ago. He did prescribe a little tube of something... Triamcinolon. It went away within like 3 days!!!!! But he also had told us to start giving her a bath every night for like 10 min in just water ( I use soap at the end for her hair and privates ) and then to slather on Cetaphil lotion. I think it is the baths that are doing the trick, and putting lotion on right after, to seal in moisture

Dr's definitely have their own opinions, because my Dr always told me not to let him soak in the bath, to make it quick. But I do know that chlorine in the pool makes the excema worse so if you all are going swimming, give a bath right after and lather up on the lotion

I always heard no long baths either... I think maybe it is warm/hot baths? I mean cause after he said it I was like "I guess that makes sense" water is for moisture...... but oh yeah, all dr's are different for sure!
Seems to be working well though for her. I also think it is different for each case, etc.

I have noticed Addie has rough patches on her back, some are pretty red. I started making sure she is soaking a good bit of time in her bath and of course not in too hot of water. I then follow that with lotion and it has been a couple days but they don't seem as red or rough.

It has been 3 months that we have been battling with severe case of eczema.Dania was such a peaceful baby that used to sleep 22 hrs in the first 2 months of her life ,now since last 3 months I guess she haven't gotten 22 hrs sleep in a whole week. The itch is so extreme that she can't sleep with more than 10 mins at a time. Also she is suffering with too much gas trouble so either its eczema or gas that is making her cry all the time.

I wish Ii can take her back to Canada to see the docs there. Here is Dubai I am not happy at all .Now I am having doubts that whether it is eczema or something else.It is just intensifying with each passing day so obviously no medicine is working.Usually they just prescribe antihistamine drops and a topical cortisone cream. That's it. Dania has it all over her body ,on her face, severe open wounds on her elbows from rubbing ,on the side of calves also from rubbing,on her tummy and back of neck. Not typical eczema pattern.Nothing in folds or behind ears. This is making me wonder if it is not eczema. All the time a transparent watery liquid seeps through the patches which doctor describes as normal.

I have purchased any lotion with word eczema mentioned locally and have purchased about 20 more from US .Have tried almost all California Baby range ,Aquaphor , Oilatum, BioDerma ,Shikai Intense moisture therapy ,Lipobase ,Cetaphil ,Aveeno bath sachets and lotions and God knows what .But nothing seems to put her misery at ease. I am so hopeless and angry .Why her ,such a tiny baby going through so much pain ?

She should be learning things at the moment but only if she can stop crying from itch .Just waiting for a miracle.....

Can you find a specialist near you? Could it be shingles or scabies? I really hope it's nothing serious and u can find a good dr. who can diagnose it and cure it quickly.

Please KUP.

Take care.

I am sorry to hear that I would try the 10 min baths everynight in not too hot of water..... and then lotion her up with a good unscented, hypoallergenic lotion ( you may already be doing this ...... but try and not use any kind of soap in the bath, just on her private area right before getting out. Let her go in just a diaper in the cool air, only put her in cotton clothes.....
Just throwing some things out my doc told me.... I hope she gets better soon!!!!

I researched scabies and shingles but no her condition is not identical to any.Maybe an off shoot of Eczema in some kind. I will post her pictures if you ladies can bear to see .

Here they have tons of Doctors and specialists ,most all from India and rest from eastern Europe etc.Mainly the ones who didn't get good jobs in their own countries ends up here. Its all about money ,every doctor tries to extract as much as he/she can.I don't mind paying but it has been 3 months and thousands of dirhams ( 1 USD = 3.674 Dhs) later she is still or even more miserable.

Later today I will try to take some pics and post here.Maybe someone can offer some insight.

Thanks for your advice.Baths do make her feel better for about an hour or so.But I can't give her more than 2 per day .We have the same routine to just wash her without any soap ,then put some cream like Calendula all over and then apply Aquaphor to seal it off.But within minutes her skin is peeling and redness appears .

Here is Dubai we have severely hot weather ,in excess of 45 degrees on most days so AC is a must .According to one Doc AC air is very drying for skin so we are planning to buy a humidifier .Also she advised us to keep her cover in cotton so that we always do.We also avoid sudden change in temps for her as this aggravates her itching and redness .
