I bought a cloth diaper.
Well, it's not a regular one... It is for swimming.
No way in hell I'd spend $9 on a bag of 20 little swimmers when I can buy one I could use over and over for just $11. Right?
So not switching to cloth permanently buy this one seemed to make the most sense!
How are the other mommas doing it?. We're starting a mom and baby aqua gym class next Monday and I needed something more "permanent"

I just got the first 2 of my cloth diapers on Friday. I was thinking the same thing, about not buying little swimmers. Maybe the one out of the 10 I ordered that i like the least I will use, i would hate to fate one of the cute ones I got. But great idea.

I have a swim dipe... but we're in the pool multiple times a week and also, those little swimmers don't fit until the baby is 16 pounds so I had to have an alternative anyway.

I didn't find a swim dipe I liked before we went, so I ended up buying a pack of little swimmers (thankfully I had a coupon). It worked pretty well under his swimsuit, he didn't poop though so no test there.

I need to get something for Emma soon. I found the reuseable diaper I used for Joey his first summer, but it's too snug on Emma.
I hope Target has reuseable diapers when I go later this week.

At least it's little baby pee! Think of how many bigger people pee in the pool. That's ewwwww! My bff is a lifeguard and she says the chemicals that they put in there will kill anything. Now I'm not sure what's better. I guess in this case I'll go for chemicals.

I bought a swim diaper, but it has no opening - kind of like a speedo for babies with absorbent padding and elastic edges... in our pools they have to be approved swim diapers so I don't think you're allowed to just use a regular cloth one.
He's outgrown it already though... and if he were ever to poop I'd just cut it off and throw it away lol... no idea how to slide it off his legs without getting poop everywhere.

LOL..I'd probably do the same.
It's a good idea though to use a cloth diaper for swimming...especially if it's temporary. We bought a kiddie pool for Jenna (waiting for some real hot weather though to set up!) and I didn't even think of the diaper part. lol

I sat Simon in the kiddie pool we had for my niece and I just had a bg on him.
My mom has some little swimmers though so I can use those if I need to.

It's not a regular cloth diaper!!. It's a swim diaper but it's made in cloth so that's why I called them "cloth diaper"
To be honest, I don't see much difference with CD's. Yes, it's thinner and it doesn't have the inserts but the way to put it in, attach it and the inner fabric seem very similar.

i just use a cloth diaper cover without the insert (bumgenius 3.0) on emerson. i also bought emerson 2 different sized bathing suits last year that have built in swim diapers. so now i use the smaller one on suriah and the bg 3.0 on emerson with a regular swimsuit. if you use a cloth diaper cover in the pool for your kid (not a cloth swim diaper) you just need to make sure you dont use it as a regular diaper because the chlorine in the pool will break down the elastic on it. so i make sure to only use the same cover so i dont wreck many cloth diaper covers.
i have never bought those disposable swim diapers...we go into the pool way too much to waste that kind of money on those when there are easy reusable alternatives. and if you get a cloth swim diaper (like you did paola) its cheaper than a package of swim diapers and you can use it many, many more times....

I use a pocket diaper without an insert. Works fine for us.
