I was attempting to clean up my apartment because it still looked like the crayola box threw up in my living room. We had Simon's birthday party last weekend and I'm just getting around to taking down the decor. Well, I can't bring myself to throw it away! I have three mylar balloons, two 1st birthday banners, and the leftover Elmo napkins and party hats in a bag in the closet. When will I ever need that stuff again? I can't just throw it away though! I don't want to end up on Hoarders!

I have a hard time throwing away that stuff too. I always feel like 'someone could use this' but its not me and I'll never FIND that someone, so I just hold on to all this junk! haha.

speaking of hoarding, we have plenty of diapers but the BG AIOs just went on clearance b/c they are discontinuing them and I want to buy a TON, including in small sizes for the next baby... I already got 2 and am trying to refrain from ordering any more... but tis hard, esp. w/ free shipping! eeek!

"HI DAKOTA!!!"

i accuse my mom of being a hoarder! She's not like those folks you see on TV who have to make trails through their house, or anything! (haha) but she finds sentimental value in just about anything, and she has a hard time throwing it away.

because my mom was always like that when i was growing up...and i HATED it...i'm just the opposite! I throw everything away. Even if i KNOW i can re-use it. Drives my mom nuts.

but in your defense...i can see how 1st bday decorations would be hard to get rid of. they only turn 1 once!

I saved everything that was re-used (banners, cut-outs, ribbons, etc). Anything that was unopened, I returned (I had lots of extra plates, cups, etc).

I know I won't need them and will never re-use them but I'll pass them on to someone that can benefit from them (the decorations mostly)

I did save some things in her keepsake box (her #1 candle, a bday hat, bday bib, onesie, etc...)

I save all that stuff. I still have things from Morgan's first birthday party. I'm going to use the unopended plates and napkins from my babyshower at Madison's party.

Me too...no emotional attachment to that stuff. Lucas had a pirate themed party for his 3rd birthday and I had so much pirate stuff left over (cups, plates, table decor, hanging decorations), but I didn't want to throw it away because it was still in MINT condition and I knew I wouldn't be repeating a pirate party in the future. So, I took a picture of everything I had and listed it for FREE on Craigslist. I was shocked at the all responses---lots of interest. I put it all in a box, but it at the end of my driveway and it was gone within an hour of my posting!
