Were you on Team Green with a previous pregnancy? Are you now? Are you considering it in the future?

Tell us about your experience. Was it so much better finding out when your baby was born or did it kind of suck not being able to shop and refer to your baby by name while you were pregnant? Are you considering doing it now or for a next baby... how come?

We were on Team Green when we had Clare. It was something I knew I wanted to do at least once. It was kinda cool to wonder the whole pregnancy. When I was born, my parents told the doctor/nurses that they wanted my Dad to be the one to announce the gender. So, we did the same thing. It was really neat to have my husband tell me that it was a girl.

It was hard to buy things, though and always try to buy gender neutral stuff. Everything is green or yellow. Boring!

With the boys, I found out the gender with them. I just don't think I can wait again! And with how much we want another girl next time, there is no way I'm waiting!!!

With my first, I was so sure she was a girl. My mom and I just "knew". I had an ultrasound at 34 weeks (I think) and my OB said she was guessing girl, but really wasn't sure and not to take her word for it. I really wasn't surprised when she came out a girl, but even without that ultrasound, I just knew in my heart she was a girl.

I wanted to be on team green for the second. I had some weird heart rate issues with that pregnancy though and my heart beat matched his. So, every time I went in, they had to do an ultrasound to make sure they were getting him and not me through the placenta. I was in for a UTI one night, around 21 weeks, and the tech was doing his thing, then jumped back and said "Wow, that's definitely a boy". Up to that point, I had no idea. I was kind of ticked.

With the last 2 I wanted to know. IF (and at this point, it's a huge if) I ever have another, I want to try my hardest not to find out.

I'm going to be on team green the next time. I really want that surprise. I've never heard anyone say that they've regretted it. I can't wait to here "it's a ______!" Findin out at an ultrasound, in my opinion, was very underwhelming.

We found out with the first 2 and were on team green with Merrick. I loved not knowing because everyone kept asking and it was just like NOPE don't know. We only had a 15 week ultrasound though so it was nice to have it so early so that we didn't know.

IF we have another one, we're going to go team green again.

I think it would be really neat to experience that at the birth but I could never do it. I have the hardest time being patient until 20 weeks..I couldn't do it for 40 weeks. I like to shop and plan ahead.

I have absolutely no desire to be team green... at all. I'm impatient and I feel like finding out at 20 weeks (about) is still a surprise and then you can have more fun shopping etc during your pregnancy while knowing.
Heaven likes this.

With my next pregnancy, I'm going to ask the doctor to get a good shot of the parts and let me and dh try to figure it out before he says what he thinks.

When I thought we were done after Lucas I always said...Oh if I ever had another child I would TOTALLY be on team green. Easy.

Surprise pregnancy. I'm a liar. Couldn't do it. No way. Had to find out. DH and I always made a big deal of the sonogram day...dressed in the color we were hoping for...out to lunch/dinner afterwards. I will ALWAYS remember those big sonogram days. They were really special for us.

Personally I think that one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life is to be on Team Green. I loved the guessing game that we had at my baby shower and often look back at the guesses that people put forward. It made waiting for him to arrive so exciting!! I found myself enjoying the last days of my pregnancy because of the excitment.

Even though I was sooooo desperate to know what he was it still took us 5 mins or so to remember to ask what he was!!!

We also went out to eat after the big US with each boy. And we brought them with, so obviously it was just DH & I for #1, then we brought Nathan to #2 & all 4 of us went to #3.

I feel like it's a surprise at 20 weeks or 40. Whatever floats your boat I guess!
I don't regret finding out.

No, I don't plan on doing it. This is just me, but I felt like I was really able to bond more with the baby after knowing the gender. And it made shopping a lot more fun! I still feel like we got the whole, "It's a girl!" moment, just at 20 weeks instead of at the birth. It was still very emotional for us, and I won't forget it.
