Eli has had diarrhea for 5 days now and it's been one week since he came down with the norovirus. I've just about had it and I'm worried sick. How long can one survive on bread and watered down juice? Trust me, I've tried the pedialyte but he hates it so I've been sneaking a little bit of electrolyte powder into his watered down apple juice. He's also able to keep down a little bit of chicken but that's it. He can't tolerate any dairy whatsoever. His legs look so skinny but he's gained back the pound he lost over the weekend. He's peeing lots of diapers and his urine is still light coloured but still, I can't wait for this to be over with.
Chase had diarrhea in December for two weeks. It was awful. I really feel for you.
Kimberly---I hope your uncle is okay!
It's Saturday. DH is away until tomorrow. He left Thursday. I miss him
The older boys woke up at 630 today. They have a birthday party to go to at 1145. I'm really hoping I can just drop them off. It's at the bowling alley & I do not feel like chasing Chase around for 2 hours there.

I'm watching my friends 16 month old overnight and she said just put him to bed and he may cry for up to 10 mins but he'll fall asleep. He cried for about 40 seconds. Why did I not do this with my child?????? My life would be SO much easier. Although I'm not even sure how to achieve that. My friends a CIO kinda mom and I just can't do the CIO thing. Anyway, I'm jealous and need my next child to fall asleep this way.
I will let Chase cry at this age for sure. Otherwise. I don't think he'd go to bed most nights.
I do check on him periodically though. And i can tell a difference in his cries. And I will gladly rock him (DH too) but some nights he just cries no matter what.

I will let Grace cry for 5 min...but she rarely ever cries at bedtime anymore. I don't really see it any differently than ignoring a tantrum, which she gets over much more quickly if I ignore. Now if she were crying for some other reason (scared, sick, etc), that would be different.
I can't do cry it out. But eventually they do go to sleep on their own. And really the possible 3-5 yrs of rocking and patting and all that is short in comparison to the rest of their lives. So I don't mind it. I actually miss holding and cuddling with Blair. At nearly 7 she almost wants nothing to do with me. She still enjoys my company but forget hugs kisses and cuddles for hours on end. And bed time she doesn't even need to be tucked in. I'll tell her it's 8:30 and shell come tell me good night and go to bed no questions asked. And shes never cried it out, slept with me most nights, and got up in the middle of the night till 3. So my point is it'll happen in time and you'll miss it when it's gone
I am on the fence about CIO at this age. Sometimes she will cry just to get us to keep coming back in her room..and sometimes she really does need some extra cuddles or somethine else..so I give her 5 or so minutes and if she doesn't settle down I check on her. She doesn't cry often but sometimes she is overly tired or cranky and will throw a fit..more so at nap time.
