if i had the choice, i would totally work (3) 12s, to be home the rest of the time with my kids, but jeeeeze, those would be some long days. totally worth it, to have that many days off, though.

we're only doing (4) 10s this week, because of some Navy wide exercise they're doing this week, and they want the base to be pretty empty on Friday. and instead of them just giving us the day off paid, we have to make up for it, by working more throughout the week. I've talked to other contractors and civil employees, and their companies are paying them for the Friday off. Not ours. they're making sure they get that 8 hours out of us.

I do 2 11-12 hour days. 9am to 8pm, but I stay until 9 if we are busy.
It's nice cuz I get 22-24 hours with only paying daycare for 2 days and I work 35 miles away so it saves on gas. The kids are in bed when I get home but I see them a lot the rest of the week so it's okay.

hehe....I'm just messing with y'all!!! I'd shoot myself right about now if I worked an office job or something. I couldn't put my feet up and they would just have to send me home bc I'm sure I'd have an emotional break down! LOL

Who else is having unseasonably warm temperatures? It's 72 and sunny here. Absolutely gorgeous. I'm pretty sure our average March temp is about 40/45. It's fixing to be in the 80's this week.

It's been warmer than normal here...but it was that way all winter. We've been in the 80's lately.

My chihuahua, Pepe, is having another episode today. We are waiting to go to her vet appt. I hate seeing my pets in pain.

I hope she is feeling better ASAP.

I can remember being practically hysterical one time when our old dog Seven was vomiting & had rectal bleeding/blood in her stool. Driving as fast as I could to the vet in tears. I probably looked like a crazy person.

That is exactly how I am. I am total mess right now. I seriously can't stop tearing up. She was my first baby and I don't want anything to happen to her.

Liz, so sorry. Seeing a pet suffering is so difficult. Hope everything turns out ok.

Okay ladies, I need to make karate style headbands for Brady's ninja party Sunday. On Pinterest, someone mentions cutting muslin into strips. Would I just go to Jo-Ann fabrics and buy a big piece of muslin? And cut it into strips with regular scissors? I am totally clueless and not crafty at all. Will it fray if I cut it?

i THINK you could just cut them with regular scissor (or maybe even those zig zag scissors for cutting fabric, if you have some.) but it wont matter if the edges are frayed or not, because you'll want to cut them wide enough, so that you would fold them to the right width.

does that make sense? like, cut them 3 times the width you woudl actually want them. then tri-fold them before tying them one their head.

Yes. That does make sense. I wouldn't have thought of that

And really, they are a one time thing. I wasn't planning on them lasting long. Just a fun (cheap) thing to do.

that may not be the way someone else would do them, though. so maybe someone else has a better suggestion.
