Guess who unlocked the backdoor and escaped today???? DH hasn't installed the backyard gate yet so he could have easily run into the front. Luckily I caught him really quick, it just suddenly got too quiet in the house.

Now I had to install those fun baby proof door things on the front and back door

Anyone else have an escape artist in the house?

Major knows how to unlock and get out the front door but luckily he has no interest in doing so. I'm sure it won't always be like this though.

Morgan can easily get out. She's been working locks for awhile now. She locked me out at 20ish months. I'm not sure on age exactly. I ran to the mail box. She was glued to the TV. DH was sleeping from working nights. She wasn't even tall enough to reach. She pulled a chair up and locked the door. She danced in the Entry way till DH got up from me banging on the door and ringing the door bell. She did the same thing a month ago with DH, I was home so we both danced in the entry way lol she also unlocks the back door to let the dogs in. She won't dart out the house though. The front door had a sliding lock on top that she's never bothered with. The back yard is fenced and the garage is always closed and cars locked. I also set the alarm to beep if a door is opened. So I know if she opens a door and she gets fused at for it. Or I just lock those doors with the key and hide it from her.
She's always been good with hand eye coordination. She now likes to lock me out the bedrooms to jump on the bed. She is too smart for her own good I swear. She also knows that if Blair locks her out of the bathroom that she needs a key to open the door. She beggs me for a key so she can get in.

Oh man...glad you got to him quickly! Grace can't open doors yet. She just recently got tall enough to even reach the knobs. I know it's just a matter of time. We're going to need to get something to babyproof...our doors are easily unlocked.

Chase has not figured out the front door/door to the garage lock yet. I'm sure he will soon. He does know how to open the glass sliding door that goes onto the deck. He is always letting the dog it and it drives me batty. He also knows how to open the latch on the gate that is at the top of the stairs of the deck (heading down to the pool area). I have to keep that gate locked a lot---then remember its locked when we let the dog out---so he doesn't pee on the deck

Brennan can escape the back clising door no problem so we just keep the gate shut and locked in case he does get out back buthe doesn't really bother. The front door he can get unlocked but not out since we have a handle lock thing on the front door. Glad you noticed he was out before he got anywhere.

That's scary!

J can unlock the door but the front door knob is a bit hard to turn so she hasn't figured that yet. The backyard door has a really strong lock so even though it's a sliding door, I don't think she can unlock it. The backyard is fenced anyway.

Addison knows how to unlock and open the front and back doors and has tried to escape many times. Right now we use those doorknob covers but she recently figured out how to take them apart. Luckily she is really, really, slow at getting them apart so we always catch her before she can get it apart and get outside.

He knows how to unlock them but luckily my front and back door is heavy. He loves locking the bedroom and bathroom doors and asking who is it? They are getting too big!
