Did we have one of these for May???

A&L are going to VBS this week. Tomorrow is funky sock & shoe day. Ava was so excited about it and she told me she was going to wear her socks backwards. Hehehhee, ok.

What's everybody up to today?

Same ol' thing around here. Just work. I'm playing some serious catch-up this week after being off all of last week and most of the week before.

Bella and I are just hanging around the house today. I need to wash a ton of laundry. We will probably run to Wal-Mart later and eat dinner out.

Bella slept until 11 this morning! She has been so tired lately since our schedule is off when we go to Meme and Pawpaw's house. I thought about waking her up, but she is a grump if woken up before it is "her time" to get up.

Ugh I hate traveling in a bra! sorry

1. 11:00??! Wow!

2. My DH & in-laws think it is strange that I spell Pawpaw that way. They think it should be Papa (which I would pronounce poppa).

3. Grace is a grump, too, if she has to be woken up. Luckily it doesn't happen too often!

Haha...it's ok. I'm used to it! DH thinks it's pretty funny. None of my grandfathers were papa/pawpaw, so I never thought about it much as a kid. That's just what seemed right to me.

I assumed that Pawpaw and Mawmaw were a Southern US thing? Do you put the same emphasis on both syllables? Like if I were to say "Papa" I would stress the first syllable more than the second.

I have always just spelled it like it sounded.
I pronounce papa 'Pa-pah'....

I am in a melancholic mood today...looking at old photos of my grandparents. I miss them so much.

I'm with you!
DH's grandfather is "PawPaw"...but his wife (he married her after DH's grandmother ["MawMaw"] died) spells it "Papa". To me, "Papa" is pronounced "Poppa".

You all are nuts. Major has a grandma and a grandpa... none of this weird Paw stuff

I'm so tired! Major slept in our bed last night and you'd think a king size bed would be big enough for two adults and a toddler but that child takes up more room than a 500lb man would!

Nicole I agree with that! Plus, if Dashaun is in his bed he sleeps how a normal person would but once he is in my bed, he lays the wrong way and his feet has to be on my chest!

Dashaun is the worst person to wake up.

My day is like most days sh**y!

I get no sleep when Grace sleeps with us...luckily she almost never does. And I'm super sleepy today. DH woke me up around midnight when he got home from work so we could "try" one more time. All fine and good, except that I COULD NOT go back to sleep. Probably fell asleep again after 3:00, and I have to get up for work by 4:45.

And I have never been a fan of the whole paw paw/papa thing. I'd much prefer Grandpa. DH is the one who started the Papa thing with his dad. My dad is Grandpa. And I had a Grandpa and a Granddad.

i think pawpaw sounds kinda bumpkin. But DH's family IS bumpkin, so it makes sense.

I get the feet in the chest too, Daniell. If his feet aren't in my chest then his whole body is pressed up against mine while I am laying on my side, which makes it impossible for me to roll over without squishing him. It's annoying. But I also love waking up to his sweet little angel face.

Someone dropped the ball at work today cause we have no work to do. I guess I won't be getting any OT today.

My stepdads dad was paw-paw. They lived on a farm in Alabama so it's a super southern thing. Papa is pronounced totally different... Like papa smurph. Or papa roach. Haha. Paw paw is just as redneck as it sounds. I was always embarassed to say it to outsiders

Lily has grandpa... But she keeps just calling him "pa" which I think is kind of adorable LOL

I'm confused now. To me (and I just asked my mom, sister, and DH and they all say the same as me) that Papa & Paw-Paw sound the exact same. It's just the funky spelling of Paw-Paw that is different.
