Have you tried quinoa? Would you try it? Do you like it? If yes, how do you fix it?

I loooove quinoa! I usually buy the stuff that's flavored in a box and you just add water. I'm not good with seasonings and stuff so I would probably ruin it if it was up to me to flavor.

I buy the flavored kind too (usually roasted garlic) and cook with vegetable stock instead of water. Then add black beans, corn, peppers.

I've never tried it. It seems really "in" right now... I keep hearing about it, lol.

I just tried it tonight for the first time. I am replacing white rice with it since I don't like the texture/taste of brown rice.
I just put it in my rice cooker with water, but I want to try some different recipes. It tasted very yummy. I think I will try the flavored kind...

It's so much better for you than white rice. I've had roasted garlic and roasted red pepper flavors and both were yum!

I've never cooked it, but it is a good gluten-free option for me. Lots of gluten free pastas and breads have quinoa in them.

I always see it on the show "chopped". Never tried it, but want to!

I always see it used in lieu of pasta in pasta salad at health food stores. They chop up veggies and add quinoa and olive oil and vinegar. Looks tasty!

I bought an organic bag of quinoa a while ago but only made it twice. It's the plain regular grain... I cook it and add it to my salads for protein. It's pretty 'tasteless'

It's a staple in our house! I make the organic kind and then flavor it myself. We eat it with spinach and salmon a lot. Much better for you than rice or pasta. It's considered a "super food" apparently, lol. Tons of yummy cold salads you can use it for as well.

I love it, I either make it as is, mixed with mushrooms, onions and seasoning. Or I cook it and mix it in chili, which is my favourite way to eat it.

It's kind of a grain-like food, but is actually a seed, not a true grain. It's similar to rice or couscous. It is higher in protein and lower in carbs that most grains, and is gluten free. So in a lot of ways, it has advantages over wheat, barley, etc. It just isn't very main-stream...although I think that is changing as people are becoming aware of the (sometimes) negative impact that the gluten found in other grains can have, not only for people with Celiac disease, but for lots of autoimmune disorders & other things.

I've never had it. I would try it if someone had some but I probably wouldn't make it myself. I am not a big rice/grain eater

I will definitely have to tell my mom about it - if she doesn't already know...she has an autoimmune disorder and eats gluten free. It sounds interesting. We will have to find some and give it a try - Jax loves rice!
