Do you get to have a long weekend this weekend or next?

If you work, do you have only the 4th off? What about DH?

I hate that the 4th is on a Wednesday this year!

Well. I am only working Tuesday of next week. We have shortened hours, 8-130 instead of 6a-9p......then we are closed Wednesday. DH is off Wednesday and took Thursday as a vacation day. He is also working just a half day Friday.

I also dislike it being on a Wednesday but I'm happy with our work schedules.

This. But I am glad we'll both have a paid day off together. I'm actually taking the following Monday off, so I'll have a 3-day weekend. Grace and I are going to visit some of my dad's family that weekend...they always do a pool party/cookout/mini-reunion on one of the weekends around the 4th. Jon can't go because he's working that Saturday.

DH always has Weds & Thurs off but they asked him to help out & work that night & be on "fire patrol" basically, since theres some really dry areas that could catch fire..they made it sound like it would be OT so he took it since the boys will be at my dads, come to find out it's not paid at all..it's "voluntary" but he can't get out of it now. so I don't know what Addie and I have planned..we might hang out with him or we might just sit it all out since last year they didn't set the fireworks off until 10 pm and she was tired and cranky by then.

My mom and sister and nephew are coming to visit Thurs-Sun so I am excited about that

We are both off Wednesday but DH is on call so he will likely be gone all day. Major and I might go to a friends house to swim. Not sure yet.

DH is working because it's not a holiday here, of course. But I'm on vacation that week so the kids and I might go down to our cabin in Washington State to check out the festivities down there.

I'm off Wednesday. I was majorly surprised since I just went back. Working regular every other day though.

I work this weekend at my full-time since Dashaun's daycare is closed next week. I will be able to have 2 days off with him. I work on the 4th but its holiday pay so no issue there and I am off thursday so we can still do something
