We had a small display at a cookout on Sun. and she cried and hattttted them! We had to go inside. But they were so loud b/c they were close.
Last night we went to the huge event downtown and she loved them! But honestly only watched for a couple minutes, the rest of the time she playe and danced

Major didn't get to see a big fireworks display but we did get some and set them off at home. He liked the sparkler type ones he could hold, but was super intense about it after a little spark burned him. He was NOT a fan of the screaming one DH set off. He hates loud, unexpected noises so he was about done after that.

Loved them is an understatement. He was so giddy over it all. This was our first professional display with all the kids. Jude kept saying, "Did you see that?? Boom! Loud! Did you see that one?" The louder the better for him.
Right in the middle of the fireworks, Jude saw a HUGE black beetle. He goes right to it and without a second thought, picks it right up and says, "I have to show this to Dad!!!" We were like OMG Jude put that down!!!!

Bella was scared of the ones people were doing around Meme's house, but the big display at the carnival she loved. We parked very far away though so they weren't very loud..
We are heading outside in a few minutes to do sparklers!

When I finally got Simon outside he looked for a minute and played and didn't pay any more attention.

We went to the fire works last year, and he loved them last year too, but this year we were watching from a boat in the bay & Trey acted the same way! He said "did you see that?!" over and over again. and "WHOAAA!" and "THATS A BIG ONE!" and "AWESOME!" lol
we also had sparklers, which he called "stars"...and he loved those as well.

She didn't see any. There was one pro display at the river, but we didn't go. And we couldn't even do sparklers, so no fireworks at all for us.

My little one has never seen fireworks, over here there would be some set off at midnight on new years eve in the city but we live in the country so we can't see them from our house. My boys have seen them in Disney, but the first time they freaked over the noise so we bought them builders ear muffs and once they wore them they were fine and really loved watching the fireworks. (My boys have Aspergers and are noise sensitive). I thought i would share this tip as a lot of my friends who have kids (who don't have Asperger's) have bought the ear muffs for noisy events and it has helped their kids enormously too. I will be buying Amelia a pair soon as we are going to a concert with her in August and i think she will need them.

She was mostly indifferent. It was a few hours after her normal bedtime and she didn't take a nap yesterday... on top of swimming and going to the parade that morning so she was pretty tired. She kept saying "fireworp knock knock knock" Then she would just snuggle up with me or DH and not be watching and saying "me no like" but not crying or scared... just that she didn't like them. Then on the way home she said she did like them.

Addie hated them until the end. We sat really, really close to where they were being set off for a huge display over the river so it was incredibly loud and scared her at first. She was nervous up until the end she relaxed a bit. When it was over she said she liked the pink ones and the sparkley ones.

He was amazed by them. I wouldn't say he loved them because once the first one went off, he jumped in my sisters lap. At least he thought they were pretty this time (a few months ago he didn't). At the end, he held on to my sister for dead life because they were louder. He was really tired. He had a good nap but once it got dark he came and laid on my lap telling me "i love you, see you in the morning" and he nightly prayer.

He sort of liked them, sort of hated them. We watched them from a hotel parking lot. The first one was loud and he freaked out a bit. I had to convince him to watch and kept pointing them out, but after awhile he said "I done, Mommy. I done." So we went back inside.

She loved them. We were down on the beach and it was so loud and smokey, like a freaking war zone. I'm so impressed that she didn't get scared or freak out. I wasn't too sure how she would react. She spent her time watching them and pointing out the colours and playing with her cousins. There were people setting them off all around us. I think they bothered me more than they bothered her.
