I tried the other day with having im 'clean' mommy's ears then I do his, it kind of worked. But usually it ends up being me and DH holding him down and going after them with a saftey q-tip.
We can't do the washes they have out there because of the tubes.

I don't ever clean his ears. Every once in a while, when he's in the tub ill wipe them with his wash cloth.

He doesn't have dirty ears anymore. I remember when he was a baby he used to, and id use those big fat safety qtips with some baby oil and wipe them off.

I only wipe with a fingertip in a wash cloth at bath time.

His ears don't get particularly dirty but if they did I would use a bit of rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball.

This. For one thing, I never notice ear wax in her ears. For another, I'm not a fan of ear cleaning, anyway. Under normal circumstances, ears don't need to be cleaned out, and over time, doing so can lead to impaction. Unless ear wax is causing pain or difficulty hearing (which would be signs of impaction), I don't mess with it. Now, if I saw some hanging out of her ear or something, I'd clean it off with a wash cloth, but that almost never happens.

The wrong way, haha.

DH and I are addicted to q-tips and use them in our ears daily. So as an infant if I noticed yuckies in Lilys ear I'd just swirl my pinky in their with a wet wash cloth... but now that she's older she sees us using q-tips and will ask for one herself every couple of weeks... and even though I know its bad and especially for a toddler... I give her out and she cleans out her ears.

When we had her in for her ear appointment a few weeks ago the doctor said she'd never seen such clean ears though, and that she could see EVERYTHING.

I don't either. His ped has mentioned that he has lots of wax and suggested the wax removal drops but I haven't been in a hurry. The wax isn't visible from outside of his ear.

I do hers every other week or so with a wash cloth after her bath..hers never usually look dirty..I think i've only used a safety q-tip on her once.

My 5 yr old had the waxiest ears..I have to clean his a few times a week or you can see it all over his ear.

He's not very waxy, but if he has something hanging out I have a light-up ear wax remover reusable q-tip-like thing.

I use my fingertip in a washcloth too after bathtime...usually to dry the water up and I give it a good rub to get any possible dirt out.

She has wanted to try a q-tip when she sees us cleaning our ears...i just tickle her ear with a clean one but wouldn't let her handle one herself cause she may insert it too far.
