Went to the doc they did blood test she told me I was high enough to hear a heart beat I said it was to early she said if there wasnt a heart beat i had a problem so she did a u/s they saw an empty sac I started crying the doc said it was to early when she finally looked at the calander... So i went back a week later there was a yolk sac no baby went a week later again bigger yolk sac still no baby.. The dr said I was around 7 to 8 wks and that i have to get a d./c I am going for a second opinion.. I have no bleeding crampling i feel good just tired a lot... this dr is talking all the hope out of my heart has this happened to anyone else and they had a good outcome?

I suggest you either get a second opinion or wait for a spontainious miscarriage.

How many weeks are you exactly never minding what the doctor says. When was the first day of your last period and where you on clomid which can delay ovulation for as many as 6 days

I just had this happen with my last pregnancy. Unfortunately it was not a good outcome. I went in at 7 weeks and they saw a yolk sac. 8 weeks a larger yolk sac and still no baby. I went back at 10 weeks and the yolk sac had started to collapse. 3 days later I miscarried naturally. I chose to MC naturally because I wanted to hold on to any glimmer of hope. It's a personal decision that is hard. Do want feels natural to you. I am sorry you have to go through this.

I'm sorry to hear. I wish I could say something that will give you some hope. But if they've already checked the yolk sac twice, and still nothing...then most likely they are correct. I don't think they can mistaken something like that. If you are guessing they may be wrong, then I would suggest you just wait it out, rather then agreeing to a D&C.

Well, I can tell ya I went back and got ultrasounded 6 times each time being told my betas were high, we should see a baby by now, come back in two days. Finally they sent me out to a formal ultrasound at radiology who found two sacs and one heartbeat. I still had to wait a week to see two heartbeats. They missed twins 6 times, they always saw one sac, but never both, I guess I have a hard to ultrasound uterus. So I tend to lean towards Cindermellas suggestion, wait for a spontaneous miscarriage just in case.

Edit: Oh i was also on clomid.

From a july 16 period unfortunately, you should be 9 weeks pregnant by now and they should have seen something moving inside the yolk sac.

well that changes everything
is it possible you concieved 3 weeks later than you thought?
Because if you baby is only 6 weeks 1 day its less than likely to see the heart beating which usually happens at 6 and a half weeks. You could just be a few days too early.

I would go for the sanity saver and stop going to the doctor for a while. Even look around for a new one. I would be leery to go to someone who pushes a d&c when there could be nothing wrong but the dates. Because further along should you make it there, what else will they be intervening on?

I called this doc for the blood test and she told me the sac can shrink when its down syndrom etc.. I don't beleive her at all I think they messed up.. I am going to a specialist monday its in the city but they are considered one of the best... Its just a roller coster and these doc still want me to get the d&c i think its for the money.... i will never go back to this office.. there machine they used was so old they probably bought it off my grandmother obgyn that she used 55 years ago LOL joking.. I will just keep praying and see what god gives me...

Thanks for all the help and talking with me really helps the mind...

No problemo

I am glad to read that you won't be going back there. Run. Run screaming from the building.

I'm glad you shared your story. I hope you get a good outcome. Glad you didn't let them push you into anything you weren't comfortable with.

I go Monday for an ultrasound, at which point I will exactly 7 weeks. I've been spotting, and losing bits of tissue for over 2 weeks now. My hcg levels are normal and rising, but I have a bad feeling about those bits of tissue. So your story has made me wonder if maybe something similar is going on with me. (there is no uncertainty in my case - I know exactly when I conceived).

I am glad you are going for a second opinion. You would not see a fetal pole till between 6-8 weeks. When I got pg with my son I know the exact date due to us only having sex once during that time. I had kidney stones - thought it had passed -- there is no pain when they don't move. Well it didn't pass so 10 days later I was hospitalized again and 3days after that had surgery to remove the stone. I was only 3 weeks pg but didn't have a clue because I should not have been. That was way off when I should have ovulated. But a week after my surgery I got a BFP. I was freaking out - I had lost my son the year before at 22.5 weeks. And here I was pg with having x-rays, surgery, anesthesia, pain meds - you name it.

My dr called me immediately and said RELAX. She told me a BFP is a great sign because it is usually all or nothing at that point. She would not bring me in for another 2 weeks because we would NOT see anything before then. She was also extremely cautious and told me that we might not see it at 6 weeks. Fortunately we did.

I definitely think you need to wait this out a little longer to see what is going on. And I am glad to know you will not be going back to the original dr's office.

mamabeeto3 Thanks for your story... I actually have been researching all this like a nutcase lol It says that you may not see a heart beat till its 5MM mine was 4mm yesterday... it's amazing how some Dr. Dont think possitive they just want to terminate anything that doesnt go the way they want it... I only can imagine how many people listen to this office and do the D&C and it being to early...

Everyone thanks for the responding...

Everytime I see a loss thread with a D&C I am always afraid of that very thing. I think I get to emotional. I am glad you are being thorough! Let us know how it goes at the specialist.

When did you get your first bfp?

I just thought I would share my story with you since it is so similar to mine. My cycles are usually longer. Are yours? Anyways I had my af on Feb. 8th, 57 days later I got my bfp. I was kind of charting and using opk's so I knew when I o'd. I went in and they saw a fetal pole measuring 6w3d and told me that there should be a heartbeat by then and wanted to start me on a pill to abort. I opted to wait it out. I had hcg drawn and my numbers were pretty good. Went back 2 days later for another u/s and they saw the same thing. I had blood drawn again and my numbers went up, but didn't double. They talked about a d&c again I thought they were wrong, so I waited. 3 more days I waited and finally I couldn't stand the torture so I went to the ER and that is when they found the hb. At that point I measured 5w5d. So those machines can be wrong because here I am still pregnant and so glad that I didn't let them talk me into anything. My beta's were over 20,000 before they could see a hb.

In the past I have had a blighted ovum though, and at 8-9 weeks there was still no fetal pole or heartbeat. I mc'd naturally though. My beta numbers were going down and that confirmed it.

Your doctor should be giving you the blood tests to help determine this. I do suggest finding another dr.

I hope you get some good news soon!!

Waiting is horrible though. Try to relax and keep busy and go eat something very sugary and unhealthy for me, LMAO.
