I am not yet pregnant due to the fact that my Dr's are trying to get my medication for chronic hypertension under control. I was on Aldomet for about a week and a half and had such severe side-effects that I had to stop using it. Myblood pressure is under control on Norvasc but that is not an FDA approved drug for pregnancy. Did anyone else have problems with the Aldomet? I don't know that there really are any other options for me....

My main issue with the aldomet was that it did not work and I felt crappy. I am now on labetelol which has some side effects but they seem to go away the longer I am on it. The first few days I was dizzy and my scalp was itchy. I also feel a bit light headed if I stand up too quickly. Good luck to you!

Hi. I developed Pre-E with my son 4 years ago and was put on Labetelol which is considered safe during pregnancy. I didn't notice any side effects from it but my pre-e was fairly advanced so I had a lot going on already.

Good Luck!

I am pregnant and have been on BP meds since I had my last daughter at 32wks because of HELLP syndrome. labetatol, and procardia are ok during pregnancy.
I am on 800mg labetatol right now and 20mg procardia every 3 hours (thats combo for the contrax thou). I was on 90mg Procardia xl.

I was on cardizem is a category "C" its iffy depending on what doctor you see. My peri wouldn't prescribe it
