I saw my internal medecine doc this week, and she's switched me from Fragmin (Lovenox) to regular heparin for the remainder of my pregnancy (4 weeks). Now I need 2 shots a day instead of just 1, but it also means I'll be able to have an epidural if I wish (or if I need a c-sec - although I'm a VBAC hopeful). Anyway, I'm really happy about that, because it means I'm geting closer to my due date!!! Yay!!! Only 5 more days and I'll have made it to term!!!! After I give birth, I'll be back on Fragmin for 6 weeks.

On another note, she kind of freaked me out. She was telling me how my antiphospholipid syndrome was really high, so I asked her what she meant. She said that the "markers", whatever they are, are considered high when they reach 80. I'm at 700!!! Anybody knows what those markers are and what those numbers mean???

Ok I'm kinda new to this whole blood clotting/high risk game, but I thought they usually removed you from blood thinners once you were a month out from your due date so that you don't bleed too much during labor...? I'm not doubting your doctor, just curious, lol.

Heparin is reversable, so it is what they normally switch you to at 36 weeks or so. I don't know about anyone else, but I know my doctors would nevber allow me to be off my blood thinners for a month. It would be far to dangerous for me.
