Yesterday morning all was fine until I had to have a bowel movement! I started bleeding right away adn called the hospital they told me to lay down and take it easy and if it gets really heavy to go in. So about an hour later I started to bleed alot!! went in the er and had a u/s and saw my little love!!! baby looked good but the bleed is small abruption in the placenta! I can't believe this they told me that baby has a good chance but I'm so worried. Today I called my regular doctor and he wanted to see me too. Got another u/s and saw my little baby again! yay! still hanging in there and honestly I don't think he knows what to tell me he is like there is nothing I can do to help I wish there was but there just isn't. So, he referred me to a perinatolagist (however you spell that) who I got to see today too!!! I was so glad that it was so quick I went over to another hospital and saw him who was an excellent doctor! got another u/s and saw baby moving around and kicking and having a good ole time! basically he said there is nothing that he can do to help. The bleed has to heal itself or it will just continue to bleed until I have the baby or things will get worse and I can loose my baby. I'm still bleeding lightly and both of my doctors told me bedrest is not going to help in fact it could worsen the condition. My peri said that the blood needs to come out. Sooooo, I am like going crazy right now worrying and trying not to worry. I got my heart monitor in which is good but I'm having a hard time staying on the baby's heart beat.

Please Pray for my lil one. Love, Dolores.

I am so sorry you are having to go though this. Fingers crossed that the bleed repairs it's self. Please Keep us updated. You and baby are in my thoughts.

you know that same freaking thing happened to me but at 9 weeks

the bleeding lasted mostly spotting for a good 5 weeks

The good news is I am 29.4 weeks now and everything is peachy

Stay positive and strong. I will keep you in my prayers. It has to be a difficult thing, but sounds like you have gotten good care and with in time the bleeding will stop.

Hi. I had a SCH at 7 weeks with my last pg. I had very heavy bleeding and thought it was a m/c. The US the next morning demonstrated a strong hb and a moderate sized clot. The acute bleeding only lasted about 24 hours but I continued to expel dark old blood for a few weeks. My ob didn't suggest bed rest but did say that pelvic rest was a good idea (no sex, straining or heavy lifting). I continued the pelvic rest for about a week. Due to pg related constipation I was already on stool softeners and an occasional laxative. You might want to speak to your Dr about that so that you don't strain during bowel movements. The SCH resolved with no further episodes of red blood by 13 weeks. My son was born full term and healthy. He's 15 months old today. I know that it's easier said then done but try not to worry too much, your baby will probably be just fine.

I have the same subchorionic hematoma but I am 15 weeks. Mine surrounds 3 sides of the placenta. Funny how your doctor said no bedrest. Mine said nothing but bedrest and I could only get up to go to the bathroom and back! I am not allowed to return to work for the rest of my pregnancy. Since I am in my second trimester, he said the chances of it going away are not good. The bedrest is to help prevent putting pressure on my cervix so that my cervix doesn't start to dilate.
Keep me updated on how you are doing. I am having weekly ultrasounds to keep an eye on the hematoma. Plus, he thinks it will turn into a placenta previa, so that is even more great! (not)
