Hi everyone. I found out last week I was pregnant. Last Tuesday, the 7th, as a matter of fact. Then this past Tuesday. the 14th, I started spotting when I would wipe. Thursday I went to the ER to have everything checked out since I'm worrying to death. They did my hcg levels which were 1767, did a pelvic exam which showed that my cervix is closed and they said there was no frank bleeding, and then did an ultrasound, including a vaginal us. They said they saw the sac which was where it should be in the uterus and that it measured at 5 weeks but they couldn't find a heartbeat, which they said it could just be too early to find. They said I should have my hcg levels checked again in a couple of days, which I plan to do tomorrow.
I guess I was just wondering if anyone experienced the same type of thing and went on with a normal pregnancy or do I really need to start preparing myself for the news that I'm miscarrying? If I go back tomorrow and my hcg levels have risen, I know that's a good thing, but should I have them checked again a couple of days after that? I guess I'm just looking for a little advice and stories from others who might have experienced the same thing.
With my first pregnancy I did. I spotted and had cramping for 3 months of my pregnancy... then it just went away. I thought for sure I was going to miscarry because noone I knew had experienced it. Also they couldn't find a heartbeat till a few wks later. Even with a sonogram that early it doesn't tell you much. With that pregnancy everything went pretty normal after the first trimester... I did end up developing pre-eclampsia later on but that was more of just a bad luck thing there... I don't believe one thing had to do with the other?
Take care of yourself & keep me posted let me know how it goes.
