So the doctor said bedrest and it's ok to go to the bathroom but to stay down as much as possible. My question, with IC and bedrest does that mean lying flat on your back or is being proped up with pillows ok? What are you all doing? I'll ask my Peri Tuesday but in the meantime just wondering. Also are any of you allowed to climb stairs a time or two a day? (my bedroom is upstairs, everything else is downstairs)
I was on bedrest from week 5 till week 15. No climbing stairs for me , no hot baths or showers, no walking at all !(just to go to the bathroom )
I was always laying on my back and raising my feet with two pillows.
(bedrest is really hard but it's worth it) good luck
me again! not your back, that squashes your spine and the blood vessels that supply your legs and uterus. side lying or slightly propped is what i was told.[/b]
My situation is a little different, but they have had me in so many different positions (on my left side, on my back with feet up-only once or twice, etc.) They normally make me stay on my side which is really getting old, but whenever I lay on my back I feel alot of pressure in my lower abdomen and one time it even started me contracting again. So I'm sticking to the side method.
I can't even half sit up or I get lots of pressure and contractions start. I can't lay on my back either, same thing happens. I'm telling you though....my hips and legs are taking a beating from laying on my sides.
