Hi! I am 17 weeks pregnant and have been spotting off and on since I was 8 weeks. At first they thought it was because my placenta was low-lying and I was put on bed-rest for about a month. But after 6 ultrasounds, they've determined it was due to a big fibroid. I saw it in the ultrasound and it looks like it is on top of my cervix. The perinatologist said I might have to have a cesarean section. I've read on websites that some women have to have c-sections but sometimes the fibroids move out of the way.

I'm dying to know if I'm going to have a c-section or not. I also want to know if the spotting is going to last my entire pregnancy. Has anyone else experienced this? Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks!

I have two fibroids, one is huge but they never seemed to interfere with any of my pgs. Neither of them are in the lower segment of my uterus. They did grow quite a bit with each pg and shrunk down some after I delivered. I had scheduled c/s with all three children but it had nothing to do with fibroids and my fibroids never caused any spotting. Congrats on your pg. If you end up needing a c/s it's really not bad at all so don't worry yourself needlessly.

Thanks! That makes me feel better.
