I posted here when i first got pregnant, as I have a tendency towards high blood pressure in pregnancy, and my last go around was by far the worst of them all.. well so far it's been good, my bp has been lower than it EVER was in my last pregnancy (even before it went "south" it was never "great", just not "bad" .. my diastolic averaged around 85) and this baby has been 70's, sometimes even as low as 60 something!!!
Well ... I am almost 23 weeks and I've had some swelling lately, but didn''t think tooooo much of it, just increased my water intake. Today I saw a nurse and she was like WOW! You're swollen! Face, hands, feet/legs.. even my wrists are poofy. My bp when she took it was 128/90.. it was borderline, and she took it manually. I do have an automatic machine and I took it after she left and it seems to be reading 80-83 diastolic.. not TERRIBLE, I know. But somewhat concerning, as it's been so much lower.. Well, THEN I found my home scale (my kids had lost it) and weighed myself. I have gained SEVEN pounds in a week!!! Yeah. Not normal, and with my history of bp issues I am becoming concerned. I see my dr on tuesday, and that is the only reason I'm not calling her (that and my bp isn't too high) but I will definitely tell her about all this.
I'm just sad. My last baby it was all good until the end, when it wasn't. lol I was hoping it would surpass me overall this time.. and it's not looking as good as it was for that to happen. My biggest fear is going through the PIH like I did last time. I'm trying not to panic, but I can't help but be a bit worried.
Not much point of this, just looking for people who maybe understand and can support me during this time. Thanks.
You know, I went to my OB today with similar concerns (my pressure has been 140/90 for two weeks). I have been flipping out that my BP is up, I was worried it would turn into pre-E because it was high so early this pregnancy. I expected her to raise my medication dosage. But she said that my BP was perfectly fine! I was surprised to say the least. So maybe your BP is actually ok too?
