I've been craving so much water the past few weeks it's crazy.. Could this be a sign of the dreaded diabetes showing up for good? Since I'm in my early 30's, family history and all, being thirsty all the time is a sign of diabetes.. But I've been monitoring my blood sugars and they are perfect, from what I know.. Fasting this morning was 73 and I had a meal from McDonalds with a iced coffee and 2 hours later my blood sugars was 74.. Could this be a sign that I'm hypoglycemic, which is another sign of diabetes? I was even shopping yesterday and I had that low sugar feeling.. I had to eat something or I felt like I would pass out.. I haven't been following the diet nor do I take any medications.. I stopped all of that once I had my son..

I plan on seeing my Endo in a few weeks for a postpartum follow up..

Thanks for your help.

I am a type 2, and yeah I was so thirsty constantly. But I was never hypoglycemic.

I'm Type 1 and I'm thirsty all the time, but not because of diabetes - I take a medication that is a non-sodium salt, which causes the thirst. So it may be something simple and non-diabetic causing the thirst.

I was thirsty all the time, but not from my blood sugars being extremely high.

Thank you ladies for your replies..

I guess the extreme thirst could be due to me breast feeding.. I just may require alot of water to keep up with the demand lately..
