I don't know where to turn, who to talk to, who can give me advice.. It seems like no matter what I do, its hopeless.
Sorry its so long, I need to vent.. I need to vent to others who might understand..
I have been in pain since pretty much day 1 of this pregnancy, but I knew back then, it was because of an ovarian cyst, and the pain was localized on my right side where the cyst was.
Then I get my cerclage done at 14 weeks, and I swear ever since then, I have been in pain everyday since. I am currently 22 weeks and 5 days pregnant.
This past week has been AWFUL. I have had nothing but pain pretty much 24/7.. Today is even worse.. Even resting isn't making it any better.
I went and saw my doctor two days ago. Had my cervical length checked, and everything with the baby and my cervix looked fine.
I have heard them say "it COULD be ligament pain, it COULD be dehydration, it COULD be you just have an irratable uterus, it COULD be contractions."
I know the difference between these cramps, and ligament pain, and contractions. I have rested, I have drank plenty of fluids..and NOTHING helps!!
I don't know what to think.. The only things I can come up with is that its either 1. My body doesn't like the cerclage whatsoever. 2. I have a partial placental abruption.. I know I'm not bleeding but you don't always bleed, and only 25% of abruptions are seen on ultrasound. or 3. It really IS an irritable uterus?
Today has been awful.. I have had no relief. I even took tylenol today, something I don't do unless I really, really need it. It feels like really bad period cramps.. Front and back. The tylenol didn't seem to help. I swear I can feel my cervix and everything from my lower abdomen down is just so inflammed.. Theres no point in calling my doctor, I swear he thinks I'm crazy.. He prescribed me a muscle relaxer last week which didn't really help....My doctor is one of the only high risk specialists in this area too.
Has anyone gone through their entire pregnancy in pain and the doctors couldn't figure out why?
I am at my wits end!! I am so frustrated and I just want to CRY! I can't stand this, and I think its so unfair that the doctors can't tell me WHY. Whats really getting me is what if it ISNT pregnancy related and THATS why they can't figure it out? But chances are, it is, because its my whole lower abdomen, and well now my back... I feel like such a pest constantly calling the doctor, going in, and having my urine turn out clean, ultrasounds look good, and baby looks good.. but yet i'm in so much pain?
I guess im frustrated because I havn't been in THIS much pain as I am today the whole time.. I just feel like no one is going to care If I lose this baby, I might lose my mind! I've been on bed rest since week 13, and I have been fighting everyday to do what I can to keep her in and keep her healthy.
Oh honey, I'm so sorry. I would try calling your doctor again, but as a backup you could try acupuncture. It really helps with chronic pain, I get it for different reasons (and it works) but several family members get it for chronic pain and they swear by it.
And when it comes to pain, sometimes high stress just turns into pain, with no real underlying cause. So if you try to address the stress, it can help stop the pain. And you are definitely stressed! So acupuncture may be able to help that too. It's safe for pregnancy too, I just had a treatment for round ligament pain on Friday.
Every one of my pregnancies is nearly constantly painful for me, but for a different reason. I have herniated discs in my lumbar and my left hip is out of alignment. I stay in pain from that so I totally sympathize. I cannot say what your pain is caused by but what makes me feel better if only for a short time are warm baths and either a heating pad or cold compress. If the pain gets too unbearable my dr lets me take an occasional lortab or darvocet but like maybe once a month. The only other thing I can say is that pregnancy is a temporary condition. I tell myself it will be over soon and the pain results in a wonderful gift so I grit my teeth for the time being and wait for my reward at the end. Good Luck-I hope you find some relief.
