Are you having one this pregnancy? If so, will anything be different about it because you're high-risk?
My SIL told me on Friday that she and my local BFF would like to plan one for me. I know with second kids you often don't have one, but last pregnancy the shower ended up happening while Jim was in the NICU, and it just wasn't the same as it would have been if he hadn't come early. My SIL picked up on that too and that's why she wanted to throw one this time around--her comment was, "Let's do it better than the last one, that party was just weird."
I had one for my second, but my first and second are 8 years apart, I didn't have one for my first though as I was far away from family and friends. I didn't have anything for my third. I'm contemplating having a gender reveal party this time around, just for fun (but really probably won't). What I'd REALLY like is just to have a BBQ/Diaper Sprinkle. Have family and friends just come hang out, have a gathering, food, etc. Think I can combine a Gender Reveal, BBQ, and Diaper Sprinkle? LOL!
I am actually throwing a gender reveal party for my besting on the 5th we are due 8 weeks apart and its so much fun going through pregnancy together again. We are thinking if this is a girl I will have a shower if its a boy we will have a welcome baby party after birth because I don't really need anything for baby as I kept a lot of my sons clothes. For me I just like to have a party celebrating baby and gifts are not required to have fun with friends and family.
My sisters wanna throw them in late sept or early nov.
More fundamental than religion is our basic human spirituality. We have a basic human disposition towards love, kindness and affection, irrespective of whether we have a religious framework or not. When we nurture this most basic human resource – when we set about cultivating those basic inner values which we all appreciate in others, then we start to live spiritually. - Dalai Lama
