So..... had an appointment yesterday. They rechecked little man all over again. He's still huge, I still have lots of excess fluid, and my sugars have been terrible. So on to an attempt at an oral glucose medication. Also, baby's kidneys are still excessively fluid filled. It's called antenatal hydronephrosis, and can be caused by many things: a narrow ureter, reflux where the flap that lets urine out isn't working and so urine is also flowing back up into the kidney, a blockage, a poorly functioning kidney, etc, etc, and it could also resolve itself. There's nothing to be done now but continue to monitor it, and if it continues he will be evaluated at birth by a urologist. So.... fun. The only reason that it would be critical in utero is if I had low amniotic fluid, and since I have polyhydramnios that's not an issue for us right now. Going to be a long last couple of months.
