Hello! I want to thank anyone in advance for your replies. I was just wondering what your A1C was when you got pregnant? Right now mine is at a 7.2, but I'm not planning to TTC until August. I'm hoping it will be down into the 6's by then. The doctor told me an A1C of 6 is recommended. What is your experience with this? Thanks!
I was told to have mine below 7 for at least a year before I got pregnant. I was able too. I kept it in the 5s and 6s while pregnant with my son and it was in the low 7 while I breastfed. It went backdown and a year later was in the 6s when I got pregnant with my daughter. Both of my kids were born healthly and well. A little big though my son was 7 lbs 13 oz at 38 weeks and my daughter was 9lbs even at 37 weeks which is hilarious because she is super tiny and petit now!
If you have another questions let me know I had my whole pancreas removed 9 years ago and have been on a pump since.
with my youngest kiddo who is 5 months old today my a1c was something like 8.3 when I got pregnant. After the first month is was down to 6.3, then remained at 5.1 thoughtout the rest of my pregnancy and I have a very happy and healthy kiddo. Who was 7.3 #'s at birth at 38 weeks and was like 12.6 #'s at 4.5 months old. With my two older kiddos I also had A1c's in the 5's when I was pregnant with them and they are now 8 and 6 years old.
