Those who are currently pregnant or TTC, are you planning to breast feed? Those who have kids already, did you breast feed?

I did not breast feed with either DS or DD. I would like to try this time, but I may not be able to due to the reduction surgery I had.

I pumped exclusively for Jim--he just never would nurse. In the NICU, he'd desat when I tried to nurse him, and when I got him home and tried to nurse, he'd scream bloody murder anytime my boob got near him. So, I pumped for a year. This time around, I'm both pumping and nursing. We mostly feed bottles during the day, and I mostly nurse at night. With both kids I've been overproducing, and giving away the excess to friends who aren't making enough.

Stella never latched. She was jaundice and in the nicu so I had to supplement. I pumped for a month and my production was pathetic. The most I ever got during a pumping session was 3oz.
I was determined to BF Duncan, but it was not meant to be. He latched immediately the first time at the breast and never again. I put him to the breast every hour for the first 24 hours. I would try, then pump to try and see if anything was happening. When I was pumping, I was getting nothing, not even colostrum. When Duncan was just over a day old I was sitting and pumping at about 2am, (we had already fed Duncan formula since he had turned from a sweet boy to a maniac in those first 24 hours) I remembered back to when I was pumping every 2 hours for Stella and still not producing even 1/2 of what she needed and I threw the bottles, looked at DH and said "I'm done!". In hindsight, I am glad I did that. I got to enjoy my first month with Duncan instead of being beyond exhausted and frustrated from pumping all the time.
If I had another (which is not in the cards), I do not think I would attempt breast feeding given my track record.

I nursed/pumped for my first. At 5 months she didn't want to nurse so I exclusively pumped until she was 1. I nursed/pumped (mostly nursed) my son. He was a big nurser and weaned around 1 year. I plan to do the same for this kiddo...nurse/pump when away.

I breastfed Allison for 22 months, until I got pregnant with Junior. I'm planning on breastfeeding him as soon as he gets here (April 26!)

I nursed when around and pumped when at work for all three. DD#1 weaned at 13 months, DS weaned himself at 10 months, and I'm still nursing/pumping with little rose right now at 7.5 months. I plan to go a year with her. Once I go back to school in the fall, I won't be pumping at work even if I still nurse her at night.

you ladies that exclusively pump are amazing! I HATE pumping. I tried to do it and absolutely hated it.

I ebf'd Allison until she was 16 months old and I got pg with Claire. Claire is 11 months old and still nursing, although I would like to start to wean her now. If and when we have another, I'll bf that one, too.

When I had with my first baby I can't breastfeed my baby because my breast have only a little amount of milk.
