Hi! This is my 3rd pregnancy and our first two were with fertility. I found out I was pregnant while waiting to go to the OR for a hysterectomy. Was in shock then super excited. But my beta and progesterone levels are slow to rise. Dr is concerned and says all we can do is wait

Here are the levels

11/20 = beta 3800; progesterone 8

11/23 = beta 5192.4; progesterone 9.29

11/26 = beta 8844.5; progesterone 10.8

I am doing progesterone suppositories but very concerned with the beta levels. If anyone has any thoughts or anything I am listening. I need to know - just an emotional roller coaster right now --- I know i need to eat, but have absolutely no desire to do anything. Has anyone ever heard of this happening? I am preparing myself for the worst, but praying for the best.

Praying for a sticky baby

April

In only one of my pregnancies was I told about my beta levels, so I only have that experience to go by... But I do know that once you get above 2000 or 2500 or so the doubling time changes (slows) from 48 hrs to 72-96 hours or even longer. Have you had an ultrasound? It seems that would tell you more at this point than beta vales.

Hugs. I'm sorry this is such a hard, scary, anxious time. I hope you'll have reason to be more confident very soon.

How far along do they think you are? I've never heard of a dr waiting until betas were at a certain level, but more so a time frame. Usually by 6-7 weeks an u/s can show a sac and fetal pole, if not a heartbeat.

Good luck, I'll keep you in my prayers.

with my calculations I am about 5.5 weeks -- I know early but she said once betas were around 20,000 she would do us. NP said that if levels were still low rising she would ask her to do it earlier -- they are being honest and upfront - which i love but it's still really hard. Once I freaked over getting PG, i accepted it and now I feel like it's all being taken from me. I know sounds selfish, but just so over emotional. I need to get back to work bc I can only hold them off so long without telling them anything. Just not ready to accept it all. I wish they could give me a yes or no kinda answer. But God is the only one who knows what will be here. Thanks for all of your thoughts and kind words. Please keep the prayers coming. Do bloodwork again in the am. Hoping to hear some good news. Happy baby thoughts to all out there and hope your little ones stick to be healthy and happy babies.
XOXOXOXOX

ok -- numbers for today are 14411 (beta) --- nurse prac said it is better -- she is waiting for doctor to finish rounds will then ask her next step -- may do ultrasound -- i begged for one to see if we can see anything -- i broke down crying -- oh and a funny is I went to give the blood at 3:38 this morning -- NP was cracking up laughing asking if I sleep -- I told her not until I can found out about this -- Please keep praying for sticky baby thoughts.
Thanks all

alright ladies -- did more blood this morning levels went from 14411 to 23299 in 3 days. We are scheduled for an ultrasound tomorrow at 1pm -- hopefully I will have more answers. The numbers are rising so I'm praying that this baby is just being a stubborn little drama queen -- Both of my fertility boys doubled quickly but this is totally different than any pregnancy I have ever experienced. LOL -- thank for the prayers and please keep them coming -- I have faith in the lord and pray for him to protect this unborn child and help us to provide the best life we can. Filled with love! Also thanks for the kind words. It's so nice to have a safe place to land. You are all wonderful and understanding of each and every different situation.
God Bless

OK -- went in for an ultrasound. It was very difficult for the dr. to see. The NP asked where hubby was (at work like usual) but I told them not to hide it from me as I am prepared either way. Did trans-vaginal and abdominal -- my uterus is in a strange place and hard to see. The sac measured 5w5d and LMP was exactly 6 weeks. She thought she saw something then lost it time and time again. Finally she saw a flickering and was able to get it to auditory. We had a heartbeat of 136. The NP and DR were both shocked. The NP actually cried and said we need to keep praying. I am no where near out of the woods, but no more blood draws. Just continue to do progesterone and rest. I am being real and cautious. I know the chances of this baby making it are slim, but I am earlier than she initially thought. 2 weeks ago she though i was at least 5 weeks if not a little further. When in actuality i was barely 3 weeks. there is hope, yet I have to be guarded. Thanks for all of the replies and know that everyone out here is in my prayers daily. This is a long difficult road and we are only passengers in the car of life. God is driving and we have to trust in him to drive us to the place we are meant to be. No matter how much we don't get, we have to have faith.
Thanks for reading and God Bless
April

So happy to hear your news!! Try not to worry too terrible much! I'm 13 wks this week, had appointment on Monday, and my uterus is so tipped they still searched and searched and hardly could get heartbeat via abdominal u/s. Could see baby bouncing around, and the heart flickering, but couldn't get a good enough view to get a good monitor and read. I told another gal recently, sometimes there are other things going on w/ our uterus's that cause problems for the doctors to get a good read on things through no fault of their own. Be optimistic! YAY! You're pregnant!!!!

update --- went in for another ultrasound yesterday (7weeks) bc my uterus is high and attached to my abdominal wall it makes it very difficult to see much- BUT she saw the fetal pole and strong heartbeat of 153 :-) Also she said I am measuring about a week ahead. Amazing what happens in a week. We do another ultrasound next monday and did all of the prenatal blood work. She gathered my history and is setting up appointment with maternal fetal medicine specialist for around weeks 11-13. She officially put me on her books as being pregnant. Still aren't out of the woods but it's looking better. thank you all for the good thoughts and prayers. Please keep them coming. They are helping me to stay calm. Sticky baby yeah!

Update -- this weeks ultrasound shows heartbeat of 168 and baby measuring 6 days ahead. Baby looks great but mommy is off of work for duration of pregnancy bc of high risk, incompetent cervix, along with other issues. Just must pray our financial situation works out, but a healthy baby is what our goal is. God will find a way - I must believe. Please keep the prayers coming -- they are helping to keep me semi-sane at this point. Praying for all out there to have happy healthy babies and pregnancies.
