I have had 5 miscarriages back to back. My OB did some genetic/blood testing and said my blood factor was high and not to get pregnant until we did the second test on January 2nd. Then I see him on the 4th of January to discuss treatment.

Anyway, my husband and I apparently had an oops because I'm testing positive on first responses preganncy tests and I feel pregnant. I am terrified, like worried sick. I don't want to work. Don't want to do anything. I'm so scared of losing this baby.

I did research online and found out one baby aspirin + folic acid can stop miscarriages with clotting disorders...so, I've been taking it everyday for 3 days...or since I suspected I was pregnant.

I'm not sure how far along I am, but it's very early...like 3-4 weeks.

Was I supposed to be on heparin shots or treatment before? Will the baby aspirin save my baby? Or will I miscarry again? I'm sick with worry. Do you think I'll be okay, and most importantly the baby...

I see my OB on the 4th, but I'm calling him first thing Monday.

Hi my name is Amanda and i have a blood disorder called protein S difficiency i have had 9 pregnancies including this one they didnt find my blood disorder till my last pregnancy i had a little boy at 26 weeks and 2 days he lived for 6 weeks and before that i had a still-born couldnt understand why i had a still-born cause i had 2 healthy full-term baby boys, but now i know why so with my last pregnancy they started me on baby asprin 81 mg. and i was suppose to be taking levonox shots in my tummy but the docs nurse explained to me that i had low protein so i thought i just needed to eat more protein so thats exactly what i did but when i was put in the hospital at 25 weeks for my water breaking and my blood disorder was causing my baby not to grow anymore he stopped growing at 20 weeks so to make a long story short with this pregnancy i have to see a lot of docs. and take baby asprin 81 mg and have levonox shots and progestrin shots til im 36 weeks than they give me another shot just before i deliver so i know how your feeling so message me if you need someone to talk to

I'm so sorry for your losses! I have a clotting disorder, too, Factor V Leiden. Luckily, I knew I needed blood thinners before ever getting pregnant, even though my clotting factor was found after pregnancy. I take lovenox injections and am on my 3rd pregnancy with them. I had one loss because I was on a blood thinner I shouldn't have been on while pregnant. Anyway, I guess depending on the type of clotting factor you have, the baby aspirin may help. I would call your doctor tomorrow and see if they can see you or call in a prescription for what you need. I'd keep taking the aspirin and folic acid in the mean time. ((hugs and prayers)) for you and your baby. Good luck!

So sorry for your losses. I have the same history as Amy and am on blood thinners all of the time, pregnant or not. I did have one pregnancy that resulted lost that was conceived while on my blood thinner that I take when not pregnant. I have never conceived while not on blood thinners, but when I got pregnant with my first I was w/o anticoagulation for several days while I waited to get into see the hemo.

I hope that your doc was able to give you some info. KUP!

I think taking the BA till you can see the doctor is the best thing to do...In my last pregnancy I didn't even start lovenox till I was 9 weeks, but I was on BA before then...I'm pregnant again and started my lovenox much sooner, but my doctor had me take the BA till I got my lovenox filled...The folic acid can't hurt either! they have me on 4,000mcg of folic acid a day...good luck and i hope everything works out for you!!
