I introduced myself a few months ago, when I first found out I was pregnant this time. I am now 16 weeks tomorrow. I have Spina Bifida, and a history of early pregnancy loss (twice), as well as a stillborn little boy at 23 weeks due to my water breaking around 18 weeks. Well, now I have a prolapsed cervix/uterus, and have been gestational diabetic since 5 weeks. The GD is well controlled with both diet and insulin with meals- latest a1c is 4.6. The prolapsed cervix/uterus is causing me some issues though. Thankfully, baby is fine. I will be getting a pessary on Tuesday at my OB's office. It is a vaginal support device that should hold everything up and in. I also have to have work restrictions now (I'm a nurse at a Children's Hospital). It's just stressful- as long as baby is OK though, I am OK. Anyone have experience with prolapse?
Annalise is hoping to be a big sister on June 28, 2014. Forever missing her big brother, Matthew, stillborn on July 1, 2010.
I have a few friends with uterine, vaginal, and cervical prolapse. One friend had her prolapse throughout her third pregnancy. Between kegels and pessaries, they are all doing okay. My friend's son was born at almost 9 pounds! everybody was healthy.
Also, from one diabetic to another - wowee, 4.6 is FANTASTIC!!!! You go girl!!!
