I went to the OB this morning for my 12 week ultrasound for the genetic disorders. The baby is growing perfect, my fluid is perfect, and heart rate was good. But the babies neck was measuring thicker than it should be. The measurements ranged from 3.55 to 4.4. The ultrasound tech seemed very concerned as did the doctor. They referred us to a high risk specialist tomorrow to discuss more options and to have another ultrasound. They also informed me that they have seen this resolve before and with everything else looking good that we shouldn't worry. The tech said she thought she saw a nasal bone but she can't say for sure.
I have had two healthy perfect pregnancies prior to this. What are the chances of this resolving or that they could be wrong. As much as I am trying not to stress, its hard to not worry when even the doctor expressed her concerns. Is there anyway that we could have just done the test too early and it could be normal?
