With DS I was was marked as a high risk pregnancy due to major medial issues in my family. He was born 7 weeks early but came home immediately (he was 6 lbs too!). They told me during and after this pg that all future pg's would be considered high risk

With DD I was again marked as high risk for the same reason, medical issues within my family. Went into preterm labor, they stopped it, then had early labor for 2 weeks before she was born at 38 weeks. She too was healthy.

I've also had 2 mc's.

Now I'm due in November and will be seeing my doctor next week (he had an emergency this week when I was supposed to see him, his wife went into early labor). The health issues in my family are all my sisters really. Theres Spina Bifida, Prolonged QT Syndrome (heart disease), Disautonomia, and ehlers danlos syndrome (types 3 and 4). We didn't know about the Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (types 3 and 4) before this year. I'm meeting with her geneticist after much debate and getting all the info I can but in the meantime, I'm stressed.

I've been down this road twice now and have 2 wonderful and healthy children. I have none of these disease myself, as far as we can tell. All the tests have come clean for me. But theres always that chance, and I always worry right at the beggining of a pg. I know for some poeple with EDS it can be dangerou to be pg, and since it is apparently inherited, my family doctor had told me when I told he we were TTC that I would be high risk based on that alone.
