Hi there! I'm not techincally high risk, but I thought this was the best place to post this I am 33 weeks 1 day pregnant with baby #2. I have gestational diabetes and pregnancy induced hypertension. I was in the hospital on Wendesday and they hooked me up for a NST. It showed that I have an irritable uterus, and my baby had 3 heart decelerations-one all the way down to 58 bpm for 30 seconds. The other 2 were that low, but only for a few seconds. I did not see my OB, only an ER dr-let me tell you I was NOT happy about that. They sent me home while contractions were still registering on the monitor and gave me tylonel with codeine to stop the contractions! I have been having lots of contractions every day ever since, but dont want to go back up there if you know what I mean. I have just been paying lots of attention to them. Anyway, I saw my OB the next day and she had no idea I was even in the hospital-she had no records, nothing. So I had to explain every little detail to her. She is concerned about the heart decelerations, so I go in for biophysical profiles every week until the baby is born-NST twice a week and ultrasounds weekly. I was also given 2 steroid shots to speed up the baby's lungs. I guess I'm just looking for anyone out there that might be in the same boat-anyone else that has to do biophysical profiles. I have read about them-that they score them and stuff, but any other insite would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I had to go for them during my last trimester. I was in the hospital for a month of it. And the last 2 months I went to the doctor 3 times a week. It's painless, just time consuming.

I enjoyed seeing the ultrasounds of him 3 times a week. And I had a ton of them to put in his babybook. It also gave me peace of mind that everything was OK with him.

I was amazed they could actually catch him breathing, that was totally cool.
