I can't believe he did that.

three weeks ago, I had a major bleed....the doc told me to go to a high risk doctor and so I did the next day. The doc said I had some kind of blood clot and a minor aruption in my placenta. Okay. The next day, I bleed again. Spent three nights in the hospital. The staff who had next delt with someone who bled this early on thought I was going to misscarry....guess what? I didn't!

I was released and stayed in bed without getting up for two weeks. Last friday, I saw the high risk doctor again who gave me a level 2 ultra sound. baby measured perfect. He told me he couldnt find a blood clot but that the old blood clot was so little, he didnt think that caused the bleeding. he said I had a small privia as well but he said it was very mild. He put me on semi bed rest and told me to call my doctor.

today, I called my doctor. He told me he didnt know why I bled and that he didnt feel comfortable taking me anymore and that I should be with a high risk doctor. I pleaded with him, promised not to leave my bed but he told me that I had to go somewhere else.

I called the high risk doctor. He felt really bad for me and didnt understand why my doctor would do that to me. He told me that he would be perfectially willing to be my doctor but that I lived very far away and that it wouldnt be logical for me to stay with him. He did say that he would take care of me if I couldnt find anyone else.

I called my old doctor back and told him that I couldnt see that high risk doctor because if I went into labor, that would be an hour ride to the hospital by car and that I didnt have a car to see him although we will be getting one very soon. The doctor told me that considering im 20 weeks pregnant, I shouldnt worry about labor and basically hung up on me.

I then called 50 doctors in my area. "hello, I am 20 weeks pregnant without a doctor. I am high risk. My doctor dropped me" NO ONE WOULD TOUCH ME!!! after a while, I decided to leave some details out. "hello, I'm 20 weeks pregnant. Can you see me?" still, everyone said I was too far along.

I feel really abandoned. My old doctor told me that someone needs to find out why I bled so much asap. although my baby apears to be healthy, this is worring me. I don;t know what else to do. Do I stay on bed rest? What am I suppost to do?

That's really odd that nobody will see you... it shouldn't matter how far along you are! I mean what if you move to a new area, or your doctor moves away - there's plenty of cases where at 20 weeks you need a new doctor.

I can understand that your doctor is too scared to deal with you given that you've been having problems, and thinks a high risk doctor would be better, but it sounds as though he's not being reasonable!

When you find a new doctor, tell the what's happening, and that the high risk doc is too far away and can they work with the high risk doctor, and let you see the closer doctor monthly, and the high risk doctor every other month or something?

I've got these 4d ultrasound pictures farom last friday that show this beautiful perfect baby girl. I feel like I could run 5 miles. I don't understand why the guy just dumped me like that .I thought doctors were suppost to be ethical. I think he's just upset with me because when I had the two bleeds, my mom kept calling his cell and asking him questions. I'm sure it annoyed him but for him to tell me that I needed an examination asap and to leave me with no choices is just unjust. What is worse is the fact tht as soon as I told other doctors that I had two bleeds, they refuse to talk to me. It's unreal!

OH no Further, that is awful!! I know a lot of regular OB's will refer you to a specialist if you are high risk, for sure. But since you are so far away, that puts you at even more risk!! Best of luck to you,let us know what happens!

Sorry I haven't posted sooner sweetie!

I'm sorry that happened to you! Doctors stink. Mine just dumped me on Friday as well. And I have a feeling the other OBs in his office will refuse to see me as well. Looks like I will be going to one of the high risk docs where I am seeing the OB Oncologist. It is a lot further away but I would rather travel the distance and see a good doc than see a crap doc that won't know how to handle my situation. I will be having to drive a little over an hour to see a doc there. I live in no mans land in a rest stop kind of town with no real good doctors or hospital. So if I go into labor, its gonna be an hour drive if there is no traffic - hopefully that won't happen and they will just induce me early or something.

I know your other doc is far away, but if I were you I would stick with him. He knows your case and is willing to see you. Many OBs will refuse to see high risk patients because they don't want that responsibility or have the knowledge on how to handle such a case. It is important to find out why you are bleeding - that is very concerning. I worry about you!! Good luck! I'm here if you need to talk - just not sure if I will be able to get to a computer this week since I will be in the hospital all week.

We are in similar situations! I am here if you ever need to talk as well...btw, I love that picture of you in your wedding dress. I found a new doctor who will take me. he is a high risk doctor and is a lot closer. I don't need a car to see him because I can take the lightrail(like the subway)Anyway, I'm seeing him tomorrow and I'll let you know what's going on. So far, I haven't bled in over three weeks and I'm starting to feel the baby. Things are really looking up.

please keep me posted on how you are doing! why are you in the hospital? Are you far along? I hope everything is okay

I'm so glad you found a high risk doc that you can easily get to!! YEAH!! Good luck at your appointment tomorrow. Sounds like things are improving for you so that is wonderful!

Aw, thank you! That dress HATED me!! The back hook fell off and the zipper kept sliding down all night, the beading rubbed my inner arms raw and the bottom part of the inside of the dress rubbed my legs raw cuz I couldn't wear that extra thing you are suppose to wear under your dress. It was awful! But thats ok!

I'll be having surgery on Tuesday to remove the cyst, and they will keep me in the hospital for 3-4 days at a minimum. Its gonna be a sucky week and a long one. But my mom is flying in tomorrow to be here and help out. Hopefully DH and her will do some good bonding!

omg....that is so ridiculous. I can't believe he dropped you like that - I am soooo sorry!!

You may have read my posts before, but I had bleeding all through 1st and 2nd trimesters. I also had a blood clot and minor abruption. I had a few other problems, and was on bedrest for quite a while, which I think helped a lot. But as you can see from my ticker, I'm over 39 weeks now! I think my docs may have overreacted with some of the scary things they told me too, but they still took me on at 20 weeks. (I switched practices due to location.)

Wow, I am so outraged for you! What about the women who don't even go to a doctor until they're at 20 weeks? Someone has to take them on, right? I hope you find someone very soon!! I would have another talk with the high risk doc who's far away. You would think he would have contacts near you he could talk to about this and convince to take you on.
