I HAD A LEVEL II ULTRASOUND THAT SHOWED TWO MARKERS FOR DOWN SYNDROME. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT MY BABY HAS DOWN SYNDROME. THIS JUST INCREASES THE CHANCES OF MY LITTLE GIRL HAVING IT. THERE ARE ALOT OF BABIES BORN THAT APPEAR NORMAL ON THE ULTRASOUND AND DO NOT SHOW ANY MARKERS BUT ARE BORN WITH IT. THERE ARE ALSO MANY NORMAL HEALTHY BABIES WITH MARKERS THAT ARE BORN WITHOUT. I AM NOT HAVING THE AMNIO DONE AS I DO NOT WANT TO RISK MY LITTLE PUMPKINS LIFE. I ALSO DID NOT HAVE ANY OF THE BLOOD TESTS IN THE BEGINNING. I JUST WANTED TO SAY THAT THE ONLY WAY TO BE 100% SURE IS WITH THE AMNIO, THEY CANNOT TELL YOU JUST FROM THE U/S.
Hi Tammy..you were the one that gave me much support in Feb when the Dr said I was going to miscarry.. Well I am almost 19 weeks and I am feeling the baby kick right now. God is good! I praise him for giving me this baby and keeping it. I had a down screening at 13 weeks they checked the back of the babies neck called the nucual fold or something like that..the baby passed....I have a high chance of having a baby with an abnormality because the yolk sac was extremely large. But I go in a few weeks to check the baby again. I refused all blood work and with refuse the amnino if needed. I guess the ulrtasound will tell me something...especailly if I need to be concerned or not. But my husband and I do not believe in abortion and we are going to pray for the best but we will accept what God gives us. He has blessed us with 3 beautiful children already! So how are you doing? Are you pregnant? Thanks for being so kind when I needed support!
