Hello ladies,

I am from the PAL board but on Monday and Tuesday evening of this week I had the strangest thing happen. As I was laying in bed I felt the strangest movements in my belly.

I guess I should say that I am pg for the 5th time after a m/c in October....expecting my 4th child. My first three pgs were complication free...well except for placental abruption with the first and fairly large babies!!! All were born via c/s.

So with that said I feel fairly confident saying I know what the regular kicks, punches, rolls AND HICCUPS feel like. The movements I felt were NOTHING like anything I have felt before. The only way I can describe it was like this baby was having a seizure inside of me!!??

Does this sound crazy....could it have been something else? I just don't know what else it can be and it has me kind of worried. I do go to my OB on the 18th and plan to mention it....but I have been doing some checking and I am worried my doc will play it off as nothing.

If it was indeed a seizure is there anything that can be done NOW to prevent something worse from happening?

I didn't know where else to turn and thought maybe some of you may have some knowledge or are going through something similar. Thanks for taking the time to look this over! I wish each of you the healthiest pg possible and a wonderfully happy baby!

Well you should have that checked. I am not a medical professional but I had two (of 10) pregnancies thinking for sure the baby was epileptic from the way they where moving and all was fine.

Hope this is the case with yours.

I don't think baby can take anti seizure meds inutero.

I remember feeling movements like that and being scared. I was told that as the brain connections form it can cause the baby to shake but it isn't necessarily indicitive of problems or anything. My baby boy is perfectly healthy and in fact quite a few ladies on my ddc felt the same movements and none of us have babies with issues. I'm sure it's just your little one's brain forming.

tell me
does it feel like your baby is having tremors?
that is how I would discribe the feeling I had.

I remember having what felt like the baby was shaking or tremors before... I just figured baby was being spooked, like when you fall asleep and get woken up with a jolt. I asked the Dr and they told me it was normal!

I would feel my son shake and what felt like he was having a seizure. It worried me and I did bring it up to my doctor - I was told it was nothing to be concerned about and in the end, it wasn't. I can't remember how far along I was in my pregnancy when that started to happen though - and it wasn't a daily occurrence.

I wouldn't stress myself too much over it, but it won't hurt to bring it up at your next doctor's appointment
