I'm having problems keeping my pregnancy due to not being able to produce progestrone..... My doctor put me on progestrone on days 15-28 and this month I showed postive for being pregnant.... My period was not due until yesterday but I tested Saturday and Sunday and both days showed postive.... Sunday evening I started spotting brown and by Monday it was spotting red. I went 1st thing yesterday morning to the doctor and today he confirmed I'm pregnant..... This has happened to me in the past and I lost the pregnancy..... My question to you: is there anything beside progestrone that they can put you on that would stop the bleeding and hopefully keep the pregnancy???

I only know of the progesterone supplements. They usually work really well when given during the first trimester.

I'm 9 weeks and have been bleeding lightly and spotting for over 2 weeks. They aren't sure why but they suspect it might be scar tissue that's being stretched as my uterus expands. Baby is growing as it should, moving around and has a strong heartbeat. Still, it is unnerving to have any kind of bleeding during pregnancy.

I've lost 3 pregnancies so I completely understand why you're nervous. I've been on progesterone since Week 5 and my levels are now usually at about 20, but I have to take 4 suppositories a day to get to that point.

Stay positive and keep us posted.

progesterone is good. I was on it first trimester. I had pervia and an sch that didn't cause me to bleed until I stopped progesterone in the 2nd trimester. Didn't matter though. I think it was indeed the progesterone which made the baby stick and I'm grateful for it.

i too think it's all they can do. i'm sorry you're going through this. don't give up hope. sometimes bleeding can mean m/c, and sometimes not. you could have a low lying placenta and that causes bleeding sometimes. i had pinkish spotting for 3 weeks this time around. i hope things work out for you this time.

My youngest daughter is almost 4 months old, and I had bright red bleeding off and on throughout the entire pregnancy, and they never figured out what was causing it. I was in specialists offices and my Dr. atleast once every 2 weeks, because they were obviously concerned. They did have me on progesterone suppositories for the first few months, but then they stopped those. I ended up delivering a very healthy little girl. Wishing you lots of luck with this pregnancy!!
