Hi. I'm currently 6w4d pg and already on bedrest. This is my 6th pg and the only one that I've ever seen blood before delivery. Needless to say, I'm terrified of losing this baby.

Anyway, when I googled subchronic hemorrhage, I found this board and I'm hoping someone has some comfort. I went in on Monday for u/s and the tech found a hemorrhage bigger than the baby sac. I was told no sex and come back in a week. (no real spotting until this point). Wed, I started with brown spotting and freaked out and of course ended up with another u/s. Baby was still in the sac but the Hb was slow. (no clue what slow means). The tech never mentioned the hemorrhage again and I didn't see the "blackness" again. Thursday, I woke up to bright red spotting and ended up with another u/s. My OB didn't have much info other than complete bedrest until Monday's u/s and the hemorrhage appears be gone. To call if I see gray matter.

My question is, if the hemorrhage is gone, why am I still bleeding. I have yet to really touch a pad other than spotting. (My equalivant would be final hours of period==I probably could just have a liner on). I was cramping yesterday however today it's just minor.

I want to get positive but it's hard when you go to the bathroom and see blood. I hoping someone has BTDT before and has positive stories.

Thanks

I've had a few pregnancies with a sch. The thing with a SCH is that it doesn't ever really go away, the baby just grows and it stops bleeding. At least most of the time. Some people have bleeding throughout the pregnancy. Not much you can do except bedrest. Brown blood is old blood though so you don't have to be so concerned about it. I know my SIL had one that she bled pretty heavy with. She is now 33 weeks and still has bleeding if she does too much but she is still pregnant.

If you're going to miscarry, there isn't anything you can do but if you look up more info on SCH's, you'll see that most resolve and all is ok.

Because of the location of the bleed it takes its sweet time all coming out. Especially if you are on bed rest.

If the blood isn't coming to your panties and you could get away with a liner truely its just spotting at that point.

It will become a bother should you have painful cramping. Bright red bleeding in good amounts and the passing of clots.

I hope it doesn't come to that.

Good luck

I've had one and bled like crazy for months. I am not bleeding but my membranes did rupture and they are saying that it was from the "irritation" of the SCH. I am in hospital at 24w 3d trying to hang on a few more weeks. I can't tell you that you won't stop being scared. I can tell you to hang in there and the plans that God has for you will come. I know that it doesn't help you to feel better but we have made it to viability. We thought that we lost our son at least 5 times so there is hope!!!!!!!!

I had one and FINALLY after months of heavy off/on bleeding and cramping, it looked like it was gone at my 18 wk u/s.
Mine was approx an inch x 1 1/2 inch when they found it (8 wks), which was bigger than the baby at that time, but the Dr told me it was small compared to a full turm baby (which is how Dr's compare). I was referred to a maternal fetal specialist at 12 wks and he said that they either get absorbed by your body or you bleed it out through your cervix. He also said that since I had made it to 12 wks, baby looked healthy-he didn't foresee any complications, as long as it didn't get bigger!! Mine wasn't near the placenta, which can cause serious problems if it had been. I was even taken off all restrictions at the 12 wk u/s.

I was told more women have these than we know. It's very common, but overlooked. Unfortunitely, they can cause pregnancy loss, especially in the beginning. He said he wouldn't be surprised if one fourth of miscarriages are caused by them. Makes me wonder......I have had 3 losses, one at 22 wks which was never explained. I have another u/s on wed, so I hope they don't find it again!

Good luck and keep us updated. I bled and clotted very badly at times and this little one is just fine now, so don't lose hope.

I just wanted to say that I am sooo sorry for your loss. There is a pregnancy loss board on justmommies if you want to talk with other ladies who have experienced what you are going through. I had 2 miscarriages early on and never would have made it through without other women to talk to.

God bless.
