Thought I would drop in and say hello to the other high risk mamas. I start my Heparin shots in 4 days. I am high risk due to thrombophillia, preterm labor risks (my son was born at 35 weeks), preeclampsia risk (had with DD1), and HUGE babies. the longest Ive carried has been 37 weeks and she was 9lbs 6oz
Hi and welcome Doodle! Congrats on your pregnancy! I have AT-3 deficiency(another clotting disorder) and am taking Lovenox. This is my first, so I cant add anything about pre-term or big babies, but I can imagine that adds some extra worries for you!
Huge babies? Where you tested for gestational diabetes?[/b]
yep tested with all three kids and never had it with any of my three pregnancies. Found out an interesting thing though. My mother had a liver biopsy done and prior to the procedure they did a battery of tests on her and discovered she has very small lungs. Apparently it is genetic and the doc even said babies are like goldfish, they will get as big as their bowls. So if I have inherited this small lung thing from her - which is a big possibility considering I have pretty poor lung capacity for someone who is healthy- it could be why my kiddos grow so big. My son was born at 35 weeks and he was already 7 lbs 4 oz!!
